Terms: Cash or cheque with ID Auctioneers Richard Lobb and Burt Lobb 482-7898 NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING VILLAGE OF LUCAN PROGRAM FOR RENEWAL, IMPROVEMENT, DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMICS REVITALIZATION COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN Monday, February 11, 1991 In the Council Chambers, 161 Main Street at 7:00 p.m. The Village of Lucan has been established as a Program for Re- newal, Improvement, Development and Economics Revitaliza- tion Area. PRIDE provides funds to municipalities for the revita- lization of older areas. The Provincial Govemment has allocated $90,000.00 under PRIDE to be spent in the Village for improvements to municipal services and utilities (e.g. street light replacement, replacement of some water services) and social and recreational facil!;;as • (e.g. baseball diamond lights, skate Ole stripping ?^;; swimming pool repairs). The Village will match the Provincial funds with an additional $90,000.00 which will mean that a total of $180,000.00 will be available for improvements in the village " over the next four calendar years. In order to establish which projects should be carried out under this program and the estimated cost involved, a Community Im- provement Plan must be prepared and adopted by the Village. Prior to the adoption of the Plan, residents of the Village are in- vited to attend a public meeting on'Monday, February 11th, 1991 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers to review the pro- posed Community Improvement Plan and discuss .the type of projects which should be considered in the Plan. The Proposed Plan will be available for review at the Village Of- fice, 161 Main Street during normal office hours after January 2nd, 1991. Written submissions and comments on the Plan are most welcome and should be submitted at the public meeting or to the undersigned on or before February 4, 1991. Why dowe pay GST on one cup of yogurt but if we buy two it's GST free?" Microwave vegetables Here's a tasty way to get healthful vegetables on the family menu. And it takes only minutes- in the microwave. 1 bunch Ontario broccoli 2 leeks (about 1 1/2 inches in diam= eter) white and pale green parts only 2 tbsp butter 2 tbsp all-purpose flour 2 cup milk 1 tsp Dijon -type mustard pinch each nutmeg and white pep- per 1 1/4 cups shredded old Cheddar cheese 1/4 Ib. thinly sliced cooked ham 1 cup fresh bread crumbs, toasted* Scrape broccoli stalks (if desired); cut each lengthwise, including flo- ret, into 3 or 4 pieces. Cut leeks in half lengthwise; rinse under cold running water. Arrange broccoli and leeks in single layer in shallow mi- crowaveable dish or pie plate; add 1/4 cup water. Cover and micro- wave at high for 4 minutes or until tender -crisp. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Stir in 1 cup of the cheese until melted and smooth. Drain broccoli and leeks; arrange alternately in cheese sauce. Cover with ham. Combine remaining cheese with bread crumbs, sprinkle over ham. Microwave, uncovered, at high for 6 to 7 minutes or until sauce is bubbly and vegetableiait tender. Makes 4 servings. Preparation time; 15 minutes, cooking time: 12 to 15 minutes. * To Toast crumbs, spread in pie plate and broil for 45 seconds or un- til golden, stirring halfway through.
