Molting Hawks beat Dorchester
LUCAN - The Exeter Molting
Hawks travelled to the Lucan Old-
timers Hockey Tournament on the
weekend, returning with one win
in their three games.
Friday night the Molting Hawks
opened with a convincing 7-1 win
over the Dorchester Mavericks.
Randy Gillian led the offence
with two goals and an assist with a
pair of goals from Bob McDonald.
Also scoring were Ken Berg-
mann, Bob Jones and Scots Burton.
Bergmann had a big night as he

Doubles tournament rolloff is
scheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday at
Town and Country Lanes.
Five leagues will each be repre-
sented by a team of two bowlers
who will bowl three games. The
team that bowls most pinfall over
their Combined averages will ad-
vance to the Hiram Walker Special
Old Ontario Championships to be
bowled Match 2 in a location cho-
sen by the Ontario Five Pin Bowl-
ers' Association (O.F.P.B.A.)
The 10 Zurich Association bowl-
ers on the five teams won the right
to represent their league by bowl-
ing over their averages for six con-
secutive weeks.

Zone winners competing at the
Special Old Ontario finals will
meet other teams from their own
region. Winning teams of each re-
gion will be awarded a one week
trip to Florida by the Ontario 5 Pin
Bowlers' Association (O.F.P.B.A.).
The overall Ontario winners ad-
vance to the Special Old National 5
game rolloffs April 27 in a centre
designated by the Canadian Five
Pin Bowlers' Association
(F.C.P.B.A.).
Bluewater Five Pin Bowlers' As-
sociation men's, ladies and riiixed •
teams are preparing for the
O.F.P.B.A. Youth. Challenge Re-
gional finals January 20 at Brant-
ford Echo Lanes. The winning
teams advance to the O.F.P.B.A.
Youth Challenge Ontario finals at
the Ontario Winter Games March
7-10 in Barrie.
The O.F.P.B.A. Youth Challenge
is a special tournament limited to
bowlers 13-18 years of age to pre-
pare them for future adult match
play competition in the annual La-
batt's Blue Light Open Ontario
Championships.

EXETER - A few young girls learned a little about themselves Satur-
day morning. .
They learned they can stretch and bend their bodies in ways never
imagined before. At their gymnastics class in the gym at South Huron
District High School, they were put through their paces by coach Starr
Jesney.
Jamey, a former South Huron student, has been coeching'gymnastics
for tent years and has noticed a big drop off in enrollmentinti 1 eh r recrea-
tion . ' .,
1.29 when I first started. Lest session (before Christmas) it
was , I Alletie is so much out there for them to do, said Jesney. •
She was on the gymnastics team in high school and competed at the
provincial level. South Huron does not have a team anymore.
"Ever since the

Althoughwere only a few at Saturday morning's session, oth-
ers are encouraged to come out for.the seven remaining weeks, Those
4-8 years old practice at 10 a.m. followed by the 9-10 year-olds and
those who are 11 -and -over begin at 11:30 a.m.
