many producers know for his arti-
cles on Marketing in the Corn Pro-
ducer magazine, will provide a
Market Outlook and Insight Into
Use of Agricultural Options.
Another speaker on the program
is Hugh Martin, Soils and Crops
Specialistvlio will be speaking on
Organic Matter, Its Role in To-
day's Cropping Practices. Organic
matter has been called the life' of
the soil and many of our clopping
practices such as cover crops, crop
rotations and tillage are related to
_organic matter.
Rob Templeman, Soils and
Crops Specialist for Huron and
Perth, will be providing a crop
production update on variety selec-
tion, soil and crop projects, nitro-
gen trials, soybean inoculants, etc.
How can a producer adopt a cost
effective conservation cropping sys-
tem on their farm? Many producers
arc making excellent strides in ad-
justing their tillage and cropping
practices towards long-term sustain-
able production. Brent Kennedy,
Soil Conservation Advisor, will be
sharing some practical ideas on
Adopting a Conservation Cropping
System.

are producer variety trials for corn,
soybeans, white beans, barley and
wheat; results of the corn high
yield competition; nitrogen rate

fund-raisers. Taylor remitted $2 of
the $13.50 price on each book sold.

Taylor first heard about Create -
A -Book on a tv talk show. The
company was begun by a Florida
husband and wife team in 1981.
Karen Hefty, a former teacher,
came up with the concept of per-
sonalized books as a way to moti-
vate children to read, and to impart
a sense of self-worth. John Hefty
devised the procedure of printing
and binding pages between hard
covers in minutes.
Taylor had worked as an artist at
AgriPress in Hensall from 1981 un-
til 1987. As the mother of two

holding its Annual Meeting Tues-
day, January 23, 1990 at 1:30 p.m.
at the Ausable-Bayfield Conserva-
tion Authority boardroom.
