Pee Wees double upon Clinton
EXETER - The Exeter Legion
Pee Wees came up with an 8-4 ex-
hibition victory over Clinton at the
South Huron Rec. Centre last
Wednesday night.
The locals found themselves be-
hind 3-2 at the first intermission
and 4-2 early in the second before
rallying to score the next six goals
to take the victory.
Nathan Burns and Ryan Craw-
ford gave Clinton a 2-0 lead before
Ian Jean got Exeter on the board
with an unassisted goal at 5:19 of
the first.
After Bryan Watson put Clinton
up 3-1 at 6:44, Exeter's Trevor Tay-
lor found the mark with the help of
Gavin Snell and Sean McCann to
cut the lead to 4-2.
Tweens win again
HENSALL - The Exeter Tween
Ringette team remained unbeaten
in Huron -Perth League play so far
this year when they recorded a 5-3
win over Mitchell Saturday after-
noon at the Hensall Arena.
It was Exeter seventh win in a
row overall as well.
Exeter built a 3-0 lead after one
period and coasted from there al-
though they received a little scare
early in the second half when
Mitchell scorer twice to cut the lead
to 3-2. Exeter scored the next two
goals before Mitchell closed out the
scoring with one second left to
play.

Hawks beat
Sarnia
EXETER - The Exeter
Molting Hawks won their
only start last week, beating
the Sarnia Old Oilers 9-4 last
Monday night
Ken Bergmann, Ron Moore
and Ernie Ahrens all had two
goals, while Bill Pincombe,
Jack Chipchase and Bob
Jones added singles.
McDonald had three as-
sists, while Walt Tiedeman
and Scott Burton each had
two -assists and Bob Jones
added a single assist. They
don't play again until January
2 when they travel to Zurich
to play the Has Beans.

Kim Farquhar had a good game
and opened the scoring from Cara -
Gardner, just three minutes into the
game. Gardner scored twice later in
the half for Exeter, once from Far-
quhar and the other from Sonya
Lawrence.
Mitchell's Jenny Seiler and Cindy
Eidt hit early in the second half to
cut the Exeter lead, but Leeann
Foster got what proved to be the
winning goal, from Lawrence, at
2:40 of the second to make it a 4-2
contest.
Jennifer MacNeil added an insu-
rance tally for the winners from Su-
zanne Steciuk, later in the half.
All Exeter Ringette players will
be taking part in a clinic at the
South Huron Rec Centre today,
Thursday, from 12-4 p.m.
The next league match for Exeter
will be Saturday, January 6 when
they travel to Stratford for a 1 p.m.
game. The following day, the travel
to Seaforth for a game there.
Burns put Clinton up by 4-2 at
2:18 of the second but less than a
minute later, Andrew Hearn cut the
lead back to a single goal from
Snell and finally tied the game just
1:11 after that when. Marty De-
Bruyn clicked from Chris McDo-
nald.
Exeter took the lead for good on
Steve-Stire's tally from DeBruyn
and Jean at 9:59 and added another
in the last minute of play in the sec-
ond when McCann scored from
Snell.
McCann poued another at 2:37 of
the second, from Ben Armstrong
and the final nail in Clinton's cof-
fin, was driven in by Jim Dietrich
when he scored at 11:44 from Jean.
The next league game for the Pee
Wees will be Saturday, January 6
when they travel to St. Marys for a
6:15 p.m. contest
