"It's a small world" was the first song on the program for the Queensway Nursing Home/Hensall Public
School Intergenerational Choir which put together its Christmas performance on Monday. In fact, there
were more Queensway residents in the choir than were in the audience.

What Christmas
Means To Me

Christmas means gathering with
your family on Christmas day. I
love to sit down to eat dinner with
my family. I can just smell that
scrumptious feast that 1"m about to
crunch into.
•
Then my eye spots the big
plump, tanned turkey. As we talk
about presents beautifully wrapped,
we all tend to forget about the most
important thing.
The true meaning of Christmas,
the birth of Jesus on that day. We
all should remember the real mean-
ing of Christmas.
HENSALL - Monday moming
several residents gathered in the
sun room to listen to our tape of
the Hensall United church service.
In the aftemoon Cathy Burlow and
students and our pianist Joyce
Pepper joined us for choir practise.
Reverend Van Essen led our
worship service Tuesday after-
noon. Wednesday Fun and Fitness
and games started the day. In the
afternoon the aroma of fresh
baked shortbread cookies wafted
through the halls, when baking

Home and love
are togetherness you see
but what about the lonely
thinking of paradise
as they call out in their sleep
Tears are shed
for all of the dead
but what about the suffering
The three million homeless have
grown you see
to a greater 100 million
helpless and diseased.
But yet
way back out of the cold - P
cruelty and suffering
there is the place of praise •
a place that all dreams arc made of
glistening snow and shining lights
no filthy gutters
nor people freezing,
along the streets of old.
A paradise place to dream
full of mistletoe and presents
by the tree.
Food not stale �r hard
I wonder what
their dreams are like
tossing in the wind
hoping one day to be caught.
by a warm and gentle hand
Now everyone has gone to bed
to sleep and to dream
but have they all

We plan to enjoy the shortbread
following our program Christmas
Eve.
Thursday morning little people
from the Hen 1 Nursery School
visited us. Tey sang several
songs and following their program
shared lots of homemade goodies
with us. Instead of our usual mo-
vie Thursday we viewed the vide-
os of our Christmas programs De-
cember 3 and 10. Everyone
thought it was -fun seeing them -

and so are homes and beds you see,

The St. Peters Choir from St. Jo-
seph sang for us Friday evening.
Everyone enjoyed the music.
Coming events are December 20
at 7 p.m. the Legion Program, De-
cember 21 at 6:30 p.m. Slides of
Israel with Reverend Rodgers and
December 24 at 7 p.m. is our Resi-
dents' Christmas Eve Program.
