Petite Ringette team wins twice HENSALL - Exeter and District Becker Farm Equipment Petite Rin- gette team added two wins to their record last weekend which stood at 4-1. Th --first win came Saturday in Hensall against St. Marys. Exeter's Jo -Dee Rowe started the scoring at 11:46, with Kelly Regier and Jayne Ballantyne assisting. St. Marys came on strong with goals from Mary Hudson at 11:20, Robin Mikita at 9:51 and Hudson hit the mark again at 9:43. Exeter got back in the game at 9:14 when Ballantyne combined with Regier and Jo -Dec Rowe, to come within one. Shawna. Rowe slipped the next marker in, with the help of Carolyn Quinn, at 6:31 and Jq-Dee Rowe got the final goal of the first with 17 seconds left in the first with the assistance of Teresa Stire. Cheryl -Lynn Wein and Ballan- tyne each added singles in the sec- ond to top Exeter's score to six, while St. Marys' Jacky Cole made the score close by getting two in the final minutes to make the score 6-5 Exeter. Tracy Taylor got the win in net for Exeter. Game two was Sunday also in Hensall against Blyth and Exeter won 11-4. Blyth started the scoring with two from Karen Bromly. Wein added two for Exeter with Taylor assist- ing. Bromly got one more for Blyth before Exeter started to pump the ring into their net. Jo -Dec Rowe got two in and Meagan Ratz added a single to end the first period. Exeter got six more in the second period; a hat trick` from Theresa Wilhelm, a double from Stire and a single from Shawna Rowe. Assists came from Katie Webber, Shawna Rowe, Wein, Wilhelm, Stire, Regier, Ratz and Taylor. Blyth's final-gdal came from Kan - dice McNichol. Amy Edwards helped in net for Exeter. The Petites will entertain their parents to a fun Parent and Child game Saturday at 5:30. There will be a Ringette Clinic in Exeter at 12 noon on December 28 for all Ringette players. Lincoln Hawks lose second game EXETER - Exeter Bantam Lin- coln Hawks 'suffered their second loss of the season last Saturday, December 8 to Belmont 4-3. Jason MacNeil scored on a nice passing play from Brad Thompson and Thomas Scotchmer got the sec- ond goal from otchmer from Derrick Campbell. Belmont also scored once in the first, and two times in the second. Exeter scored making it 3-3 with a second goal by MacNeil from a end-to-end rush by Tony Arm- strong. Belmont made it 4-3 with only 1:44 remaining. The next day Exeter played host to Mt. Brydges who had been unde- feated this season. Mt. Brydges Juniors beat Goderich 9-7 HENSALL - Exeter Junior Rin- gette squad played a strong game against Goderich Saturday in Hen- sall, but came out short, with a 9-7 loss. • Exeter had to switch sweaters, as Goderich also had blue sweaters. Exeter wasn't used to the orange sweaters! At the end of the first period, the score was 5-2 for Goderich. The local girls played extra hard in the second period, and scored five mom with Goderich getting four goals. Scoring for Exeter were Jill Sara- ras with four,Cheyenne Westlake with two and Chris Chappel with a single. Assisting on the goals were Jan- ice Sanders, Cathie Wilson, Jill Sa- raras and Cheyenne Westlake. Katic Armstrong played a super game in nct. opened scoring in the second peri- od. Exeter tied the game on Kevin Johns' goal from Al McFalls and Tory Armstrong. In the third period after an end- to-end rush by Brian Gardner from Thomas Scotchmer, Mt. Brydges tied the game with four minutes re- maining. Exeter played short handed sever- al times in the last 10 minutes of play. Eeter Lincoln hawks played at home Saturday morning against the other Exeter teams, the Eagles. Mark MacDonald scored from Al McFalls and Brian Gardner for the Lincolns. Early in the first period Brad Thompson scored from Campbell, a nice passing play. Campbell scored from Scotchmer and Gardner. The Eagles scored making it 3-1. Mark McDonald scored on a fast passing play from Al McFalls and Jason MacNeil. McDonald completed his hat trick scoring his third goal unassisted. Derrick Campbell finished up the game making it 6-1 for the Lincolns from a passing play from Brian Gardner. On Sunday Exeter hosted Strath- roy defeating this team 7-0. Exeter dominated play scoring twice in the first on a slapshot from the stick of Jeremy Brock assisted by McFalls. MacNeil scored from Kevin Johns and Brad Thompson. Derrick Campbell tallied when he- tipped in another shot from defenceman Brock. Tony Armstrong scored later from Jason MacNeil. Campbell scored again from Scotchmer and Brad Thompson. Ja- son MacNeil fed a nice pass to Mark MacDonald for his goal. Mark Dietz finished scoring from a great pass from Jason MacNeil with four assists to his credit. • This was Dave Stephens' third shutout but he had good defensive and offensive help up front. Lincolns played Watford Monday night at.7 p.m. to end their schedule before Christmas break. Hensall Novice beat Bayfield HENSALL - On Wednesday Bayfield came to Hensall to play the Hensall Novice team and lost 4-1. Hensall goals were scored by; Ja- cob Bruxer assisted by Jimmy Seaton and Casey O'Brien, Jeff Rath - well assisted by Paul Cooper, Seaton from Jonathon Keyes and Jeff Campbell unassisted. On Friday Hensall visited Zurich where they lost 5-4 in an excit- ing game. Lawrence Cole had the only goal of the opening period, and the only goal Exeter would need, un- assisted just 25 seconds into the game. Soldan clicked for his fust, at 8:25 of the second, which was also unassisted. Soldan found the mark three more times in the final period, all unassisted, at 6:17, 10:18 and 10:52, and Mark Parsons had the only other goal, from Soldan and Scou Rasenberg, at 6:27 of the fi- nal frame. Joey Bierling recorded his fourth shutout of the year to lead Exeter. The Bell's record now stands at 10-1-1, good for 21 points. Broncos blank Mt. Brydges 5-0 EXETER - The Exeter Atom Broncos improved their Shamrock League record with a 5-0 white- washing of Mt. Brydges Sunday af- ternoon at the South Huron Rec Centre. Ryan Beckett opened the scoring for the winners at 5:33 of the first, with a helping hand from Dave Far- quhar and Jeff Sararas. Three minutes later, Rob Lynn connected from Chad Gilfillan and Bill Kline to make it 2-0. Beckett clicked again, from Far- quhar for a short-handed goal at r;7*6 of tje_second period. and just 2266 seconds later Nathan Hem also had a short-handed goal, also set-up by Farquhar. Sararas had the only goal of the fmal period, from Beckett and Far- quhar to round out the scoring. Jason Lindenfield stopped nine shots between the pipes to record the shutout.
