A Christmas Cheer
By Krita Schilbe
Grade 7, Zurich Public
Last night my family had a Christ-
mas cheer
Over a nice hot beer.
We talked about our Christmas
tree,
how beautiful it will be.
I •dreamed that night about Christ-
mas Eve,
and a beautiful gift I would receive.
It would be a shame to see Christ-
mas leave,
but my parents would be relieved.

Christmas
By Julie Koricina
Grade 7, Precious Blood
It was a week before Christmas.
Everyone was in and out of the
house with presents. The tree
lights were sparkling soshiny and
bright. The days went by so fast
that today was Christmas Eve.
Relatives were coming over, tur-
key and the good smells were al-
ready to eat. •
We had settled around the table
to eat when I thought of the true
meaning. Jesus was born in an old
and cold stable. Jesus only had a
particle of clothing to wrap around
himself. I don't know if anyone
knew the true meaning of Christ-
mas but I sure did.

Checking Before
Christmas
By Jay Wilton
Grade 4, Grand Bend Public
Christmas is here and we're all
going to cheer. After that we're go-
ing to look in the mirror and then
we're going to let a tear because
Santa Claus didn't come here.
Then we checked our stockings
and right in front of our ear was a
broken mirror. I hear I think he's
near, He must be at the rear of the
pier.
He must have lost his deer or he's
getting a new mirror. There is the
mayor eating a pear. Wait he's
checking to see if all the lights are
turned out.
•
It they are not he's going to snout
or pout. Hurry we better turn out
the light! Boom! Crash! Smash.
Good night.

The Night before
Christmas
By Jessica Sywyk
Hensall PS
The night before Christmas
When all throt.oh the house
Every creature was stirring
But not the mouse
Santa came in through the door
With a key
He goes place to place
With lots of toys for me
He rode up to our house
That poor old fellow from space
He wasn't sure of..
What to leave at our place.
We said we wanted this and that
But Santa said "no way" to that
So we cried and carried on for
awhile
Till Santa said, "Don't be a
child".
Santa Claus
By Josh Dougall
Grade 5, Usborne Cental
Dad said, "Go to bed,
So I lay down my head,
And tried to wait till Christmas
morn.
I couldn't hear a little peep.
But I also could not get to sleep
So I decided to go and get some
'food
I heard a rustle by the tree,
Oh I've got to go and see,
Standing there was Santa Claus
He gave me a grin
And suck up his chin
And went up the chimney again.
Christmas night
By Jackie Fisher Room 41
St. Boniface
It was the night before Christ-
mas and all through the house
There was not one bit of silence
not even from the mouse
Everyone was running all over
the place
Shaking the presents oh what a
disgrace
Mommy yelling daddy fixing the
light
Look out Santa you're in for a
fright
The children shake the presents
wondering what they could be and
then they say "Mom is this one for
me?"
Then look out here comes mom
Do these children think she is
dumb •
She heard the clock chime oh no
it's bedtime
All the children hide under the
couch
But that won't work no not with a
grouch
So mom phoned Santa Claus and
said "The children are not follow-
ing your laws
Then every child went to bed
Every single little head
Then mother sat by the Christmas
tree and said "Why oh why does
this happen to me?"

Ryan's Trip to the
North Pole
By Meaghan O'Rourke
Grade 2, Exeter Public
Once there lived a boy named Ryan.
He was very good so his parents
gave him a ticket to the North
Pole.
He was glad he could go but he did
not want to go by himself. His
mom said, "You're going by your-
• self, but you will not stay by your-
self . Ryan asked, "who will I be
staying with?" and his mother an-
swered, "You will be staying with
Santa Claus."
"Me! stay with Santa Claus!" Ryan
said.
"Yes, you stay with Santa" replied
his mother.
The next day they took Ryan to the
train station. In eight days he ar-
rived at the North Pole. When Mrs.
Claus came to pick him up he was
very happy. When he met Santa he
asked if he could go to see the
workshop. Santa said, "yes'. So
they went to see the workshop.
Soon it was time for bed. Ryan
went right to bed. Time passed and
soon it was time for Ryan to go
back home. He hugged Santa good-
bye. Mrs. Claus took Ryan to the
train station but before he left she
game him a toy. When the train
left, he waved good-bye.
When Ryan got home he bubbled
out with news from his trip up
north.
