Everyone was in and out of the house with presents. The tree lights were sparkling soshiny and bright. The days went by so fast that today was Christmas Eve. Relatives were coming over, tur- key and the good smells were al- ready to eat. • We had settled around the table to eat when I thought of the true meaning. Jesus was born in an old and cold stable. Jesus only had a particle of clothing to wrap around himself. I don't know if anyone knew the true meaning of Christ- mas but I sure did. Checking Before Christmas By Jay Wilton Grade 4, Grand Bend Public Christmas is here and we're all going to cheer. After that we're go- ing to look in the mirror and then we're going to let a tear because Santa Claus didn't come here. Then we checked our stockings and right in front of our ear was a broken mirror. I hear I think he's near, He must be at the rear of the pier. He must have lost his deer or he's getting a new mirror. There is the mayor eating a pear. Wait he's checking to see if all the lights are turned out. • It they are not he's going to snout or pout. Hurry we better turn out the light! Boom! Crash! Smash. He was very good so his parents gave him a ticket to the North Pole. He was glad he could go but he did not want to go by himself. His mom said, "You're going by your- • self, but you will not stay by your- self . Ryan asked, "who will I be staying with?" and his mother an- swered, "You will be staying with Santa Claus." "Me! stay with Santa Claus!" Ryan said. "Yes, you stay with Santa" replied his mother. The next day they took Ryan to the train station. In eight days he ar- rived at the North Pole. When Mrs. Claus came to pick him up he was very happy. When he met Santa he asked if he could go to see the workshop. Santa said, "yes'. So they went to see the workshop. Soon it was time for bed. Ryan went right to bed. Time passed and soon it was time for Ryan to go back home. He hugged Santa good- bye. Mrs. Claus took Ryan to the train station but before he left she game him a toy. When the train left, he waved good-bye. When Ryan got home he bubbled out with news from his trip up north. MERRY CHRISTMAS Hope your holiday delivers a bundle of cheer.
