What it Takes to
be an Elf
By Darren Kints
Grade 8, Precious Blood
One day my friends and I were
walking home from a hockey game
and we talked about being one of
Santa's Elves. Then we met a short
little man named Ralph. He was
telling us he was one of Santa's
elves. Of course being thirteen
years old I didn't believe him.
Ralph asked me to come to the
North Pole with him, I said "Am I
not a little tall to be an elf'. He
just grabbed me by the arm, and
away we went.
When we got to the North Pole,
you should have seen all the toys,
rows and rows of them. There was a
big man there with a white beard, a
jolly old man!
I never forgot about Christmas all
the time I was there. Christmas
songs and Christmas food.
The night of Christmas Santa
asked me to come along to deliver
the gifts.
After we were finished Santa took
me home. Now I know what it
takes to be an elf, you have to be
short because my legs had to hang
out the sleigh.
A Christmas Poem
By Tanya Deaville
Grade 8 McCurdy PS
There is a very jolly old guy,
Who had reindeer that could fly,
They would fly to the cast and
the west
But they thought the north was
the best
This old man lives in the North
Pole,
This man is Santa, he has an im-
portant role
Santa and his reindeer fly on De-
cember 24,
And give gifts to children rich or
poor
So just remember,
Be good, before the 25th of De-
cember.
