St. Nicholas (Rapp) By Dana Dawn Rowan Way up north it is very, very cold There was a man that never, never sold He gives to the boys that make a lot of noise and to the girls with their nice little curls. On Christmas eve he ties up his sleigh This happens at night not during the day. His name is St. Nick. • And he doesn't like people to kick. For if they do nopresents for them. All they deserve is an old green steam When he is finished giving the toys to all the girls and boys. He has a scat and puts up his feet One of the elves named Peter cleaned. up his toy shop nice and neat. Santa was so happy. But that's whcn he said get to work right and snappy. The reason he said this was be- cause he had fear there would not be enough toys for next year. I Wish I Could Be By Stephanie Rader Grade 3, Stephen Central I wish I could be Mrs. Claus's maid because I can go and see the reindeer. 1 can make things or cook and will be washing the elves. I will be making the breakfast for Santa or Mrs. Claus or elves. Some of the things I might do is train a reindeer to do some tricks or do jump things. I would have to clean Santa's sleigh, maybe he would forget a present in his good old sleigh. I wish I could clean the factory but they would be too busy. I will have to go and tuck Mrs. Claus in and Mr. Claus in and the elves in they would not mind I don't think. I wish my wish could come true, do you? I hope you do wish my wish came true. What Christmas means to me By Craig Skinner Grade 5, Usborne Central Christmas means having Christ- mas holidays. Playing with friends in the crisp, clean air. Not having to go to school. Christmas means decorating tall evergreens with glowing lights and beautiful presents under the proud tree. Christmas means having feasts. I just love it when they serve the piping hot mashed potatoes topped with delicious gravy and the hot, juicy, plump turkey. For dessert I love the soft, cold ice cream and soft squishy jello topped with whipped cream. Delicious! But the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus, who was born in far away Bethlehem. That's what Christmas means to me. Christmas Thieves By Aaron Shilson Grade 7, Biddulph It was Christmas eve and I could not get to sleep. I walked outside to get some fresh air. Then I heard a noise coming from "the roof! Slowly I looked in the window. Five elves were taking everything that we had! I tried to open the door to warn my family but it was locked. I decided to climb the antenna that lead to the roof. There was a sled of stolen toys. "Let's ,go before they wake up" an -elf said as he climbed up the chimney. I jumped in the sled and hid under all the toys. "Let's go home, we've done enough stealing for tonight" the elves laughed. And we raised into the air. The sleigh landed while I heard the elves walk away. I decided to get out and look around, but a clf caught me. "Were do you think you're going?" an elf said. - "Wc caught another one, guys". Then, all the, elves threw me down a slope. I woke up and I knew it was only a dream.
