As I opened them one by one 1 checked them off of my list of things I wanted. When 1 was done opening my presents, there was something on my list that 1 hadn't checked off. I looked through the pile of gift wrap but it wasn't there. My big blue eyes filled with tears as my sister, Sandy, held me close. She knew how I felt because a few years ago this happened to her. Sandy started to tell me the same story mom told her. The story be- gan with •the reason why we have Christmas. If you don't know why we have Christmas, it's because Je- sus was born. Moreover, the story said that if Jesus was bom. Moreo- ver, the story said that if Jesus was. born it should -be his birthday and we shouldn't be getting any presents. Boy, did that ever make me think! Suddenly I didn't care if I had got that present or not and I felt foolish for being selfish! From that Christmas on I was never selfish again!
