Festive Raspberry Trifle
1 package (4 serving size) vanilla
pudding and pie filling

thing for dinner.

3 1/4 cups milk
1 t. vanilla
1 (15 -ounce) package frozen rasp-
berries, thawed
1 (285 g) package mini raspberry,
jolly rolls
1/3 cup sherry (optional)
whipped cream
Combine pudding and milk in a
saucepan. Cook according to pack-
age directions. Stir in vanilla. Cov-
er surface with plastic wrap; cool
completely.
Drain raspberries, reserving syrup.
Slice each jelly roll into 5 pieces.
Line bottom and sides of a 1 1/2
quart (1.5 L) glass serving bowl
with all but 5 of the slices (part of
the syrup may be replaced with
sherry). Place half the raspberries
on top and cover with remaining
five jelly roll slices. Brush slices
with raspberry syrup or sherry. Top
with remaining raspberries.
Stir pudding - until smooth; pour
over fruit and rolls.
Chill several hours or overnight.
Garnish with whipped cream
Makes 8 servings.

16 slices white bread, with crust re-
moved
slices of Canadian back bacon or
ham
slices of sharp cheddar cheese
6 eggs
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1.2 to 1 t. dry mustard
1/4 c. minced onion
1/4 c. green pepper, finely chopped
1 to 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
3 cups whole milk
dash red pepper (Tabasco)
Special K or crushed corn flakes
1/4 Ib. butter
In a 9x13" buttered, glass baking
dish, put 8 slices of back bacon,
sliced thin. Lay slices of cheddar
cheese on top of bacon and then
cover with slices of bread. Add
pieces to cover dish entirely. Cover
bread with slices of bread to make
it like a sandwich. In a bowl, beat
eggs, salt and pepper. To the egg
mixture add dry mustard, onion,
green pepper, Worcestershire
sauce, milk and Tabasco. Pour over
the sandwiches, cover and let stand
in refrigerator overnight.
In morning, melt 1/4 lb. butter,
pour over top. Cover with Special
K or crushed Corn Flakes.
Bake, uncovered, 1 hour at 350. Let
sit 10 minutes before serving. Serve
this with fresh, cut-up fruit and hot
cinnamon rolls.

Roscoe Hodgins exchanged
marriage vows October 14,
1989, at 3 p.m. in Lucan United
Church. Rev. Susan Shelstad of-
ficiated, assisted by the
groom's uncle Rev. Edward Att-
well. Music was provided by or-
ganist Helen Stanley and soloist
Wendy Hardy. The bride is the
daughter of Don and Dorothy
Lankin, Lucan and the groom is
the son of Roscoe and Marion
Hodgins, RR1 Lucan. Cindy
Bender, friend of the bride was
maid of honour. Bridesmaids
were Elizabeth Marsh and Su-
san Hodgins, sisters • of the
groom. Krisandra Marsh, niece ,
of the groom was flowergirl and
Colin Haskett, ringbearer. Best
man was Paul T. Hodgins, friend 1
of the groom and guests were
ushered by Paul Lankin, brother
of the bride and Brent Froats,
friend of the groom. Carolynn
and Paul would like to thank
their family, relatives and
friends for making their wedding
day such a special one.

at the Villa. We would like to take
this opportunity to thank everyone

We were so pleased to have the
New Huronia Singers join us last
Monday evening. We enjoyed hear-
ing them and look forward to see-
ing them in 1990.
Rev. Rogers conducted our week-
ly worship services. Residents in
the Lodge were pleased to be able
to see his slides of a recent trip to
the Holy Land.
The Beavers, Scouts, Brownies
and Guides came carolling last
Thursday evening. It's lovely to
hear the children sing and watch all
that Christmas enthusiasm.
The Kindergarten class from Ste-
phen Central School visited on Fri-
day afternoon. Thanks to the class
for your banner and Christmas or-
naments. We appreciate your visit
and enjoyed your songs.
The real highlight of our week
was Sunday's Family Christmas
Dinner. What a joy to be able to in-
vite our family and friends to join
us during the holiday season.
Thanks to so many people who
helped to serve and prepare the
meal.
The kitchen girls deserve a stand-
ing ovation for all their hard work.
Not to be forgotten there were
many other staff who volunteered
many hours on Sunday to make the
day perfect. Once again thanks.
