Top fund raisers Zurich's Town and Country Lanes recently held a
fund raiser for Muscular Distrophy for their Youth Bowling Associa-
tion. Five year-oki Matthew Littlechild, left was the second top fund
raiser with $212.50 and recieved this special plaque and top money
raiser Greg Quick received this. keyboard for raising the most money,
$710.75. The entire organization raised $1,221.52.
Novice Ringette team plays in Forest tournament
FOREST - The Exeter and Dis-
trict Novice Ringette team was in-
volved in tournament play in Forest
on Saturday, November 18.
With only nine players on the
bench Exeter came up against Sea -
forth in the first game. First-time
goaltender Julie Godbolt held Sea -
forth to just five goals in the fust
half while her teammates pumped
in four.
Seaforth pulled ahead in the sec-
ond half with final score 10-4.
Sixty minutes later Exeter was
back on the ice against Forest Ali-
cia Lawrence got Exeter on the
scoreboard at 4:08.
Kathleen Chappel scored again at
5:50. Lawrence set up Tracy Wil-
son at 6:23 for Exeter's third goal.
Forest notched their first at 7:23.
Godbolt came back for Exeter at
7:44 unassisted. Wilson scored her
second goal at 10:54 assisted by
Maggie Steciuk. Tired legs took its
toll on Exeter in the second half. •
Forest came on strong with four
unanswered goals in the second de-
feating Exeter 8-5.
Melissa Hayter was strong in net
for Exeter.
The final match had Exeter and
Lambeth going at it with iust 10
Tweens edge Goderich
HENSALL - The Exeter Tween
Ringette team played in Hensall
Saturday afternoon and won a close
5-4 game over their rivals from
Goderich.
Kim Farquhar had a three -goal
game to lead the -locals, while Da-
nielle Miners took care of the other
two.,
Cara Gardner set up three of the
goals, Jennifer MacNeil had two,

Kings still unbeaten
HURON PARK - The Stephen
Township Atom Kings are still un-
defeated after six league games this
year, after defeating Zurich 13-0 on
Wednesday and Brussels 3-0 on
Saturday.
In their first game against Zurich
Darryl Parsons had his best game
of the season with six points scor-
ing two goals and adding four as-
sists. John Rutten and Jeff Glavin
had two goals and three assists
each, Derek Sweitzer had three
goals while Wes Regier, Tim Mor-
gan, Kurt Mills and Matt Glavin
had one goal each.
Ben McCann had a. great game
on defence with five assists. Kurt
Mills had two assists, Matt Glavin
and Tim Morgan had one each.
Tom Connor was in goal to cam
the shutout.
Against Brussels, Wes Regier
busted loose scoring three goals
and adding one assist Jeff Glavin
had two goals with Tim Morgan,
Derek Sweitzer and Darryl Parsons
scoring one goal each. Morgan and
Sweitzer had three assists each,
John Ruttcn, Kurt Mills, Glavin
and Parsons had one each.
Tom Connor recorded his second
shutoui in a row for Stephen.
League executives
bowl at Lucan

LUCAN - Presidents, secretaries
and treasurers were bowling in a
special tournament in Lucan on
Sunday morning. Ther goal was
to bowl as many pins over their
average as possible.
The winners of this round of the
League Executive Toumament,
sponsored by Hiram Walker's Spe-
cial Old, were President Bob Cor-
nish with a +149, secretary Dave
Smith +117 and Pam Hodgins,
treasurer with a +119.
Zone finals will be held in
Kitchener and Cambridge on Janu-
ary 27, 1990. The prize? A trip for
two to Florida!
During a recent bowling league
evening, Bob Smith opened his
game with a head pin and cleaned
up the pins for a count of fifteen.
He followed this up with eleven
strikes in a row for a grand total of
420. Wasn't that a great game?
Mustangs win
EXETER - The Exeter MacLeans
Mustangs won their fourth straight
league game, improvinpt their
record to 5-2 with victories in Park-
hill and Strathroy, 3-1 and 4-2, re-
spectively.
In Parkhill last week the Mus-
tangs fell behind early in the first
penod, and didn't get on track until
1:30 of the second when Ben Kline
scored from Matt Sims and Glenn
Hines.
The 1-1 deadlock was broken 54
seconds into the third when Sims
potted one from Hines and Kline.
Scot Rowe notched an unassisted,
insurance marker with 1:35. left in
the third to lock up the win. The de-
fense played another strong game,
and with solid gositending from
Kenn Hines, the. tam's goals -
against -average has been lowered
to 2.16.
Last Saturday had Exeter in
Strathroy for the second time. Exet-
er won the first meeting 6-2, and
came away after the second game
with a 4-2 win.
It was a rough match that had 14
minor penalties called.
Exeter got out to a good start
when Hines set to Ben Kline for
the opening goal at 2:53 of the first
period.
Craig Schwartzentruber gave the
Mustangs a 3-0 lead, scoring the
next two goals, one assist going to
Hines and Willy Partridge with
two.
Strathroy battled back in the third
period to make the score 3-2, but
Partridge scored a shorthanded goal
to ice the victory with 2:33 remain-
. ing in the game.•
The Mustangs next game is at
home to Watford on Saturday.
Mustangs 4, Flames 2
Last Wednesday, the Mustangs
were invited to Huron Park for an
exhibition game against the Ste-
phen Township Pee Wee Flames
and came out 4-2.
Winners Stephen Township
opened the scoring at 2:23 of the
first, but Partridge evened the score
39 seconds later from Scot Rowe.
Exeter got goals from Schwart-
zentrubcr, Rowe and Partridge in
the second period, with assists go-
ing to Partridge and Colter, to give
them a commanding lead.
Stephen Township scored with
53 seconds, left in the game but it
was too little, too late as the Mus-
tangs took the win.

while Leeanne Foster, Heather Da-
vies and Sonya Lawrence had one
set-up each.
Crystan Mathers, Danielle Theri-
ault, Leslie Ginn and Amy Baer re-
plied for Goderich.
Next game for Exeter will be Sat-
urday, December 9 at 3:30 p.m.
when they take on Stratford at the
Hensall Arena. -

Lambeth scored first at :50 sec-
onds with Wilson tying it at 5:34.
Hayter scored twice in the next
two minutes to give Exeter a 3-1
lead.
Forest scored again at 13:03 to
end the first half. Exeter's strong
defence of AnnMarie Parsons, Kim
Keller and Sarah Hamilton held Ex-
eter in a tie situation after Lambeth
scored at 00:31 but Wilson scored
for second at 12:04.
Godbolt, behind a strong defence,
was determined to win until 14:59
when finally Mary Catherine Lang
broke through the defence and
scored, forcing overtime. .Lambeth
slipped one in at 2:24 of the fust
five-minute overtime period.
Wilson got her hat .trick at 3:40,
unassisted. With the score tied 5-5,
Exeter was determined to hold on
to the tie and did until the 4:15
mark when Lambeth finally scored.
Exeter fought back but just couldn't
turn the goal lights again.
Final score was 6-5 for Lambeth.
The Novice team travels to Forest
again on Saturday for a 3:30 game.
Crunchers blank Strathroy
EXETER - Bryce Hann and Mike France each scored a pair of
goals to lead the Exetez,Atom Crunchers to a win bver Strathroy 6-0
Saturday at the South Huron Rec Centre.
France had an unassisted goal in the first period, two minutes into
the game to get Exeter rolling.
There was no more scoring until early in the second when Jeff
Inch made it Z-0 after Hann set him up.
Four minutes later, Ryan Fulton scored off a pass from Jeff Mason
and that was followed up later in the second when France had his
second of the game, from a rink -long rush.
Hann had the only two goals of the third period, five minutes
apart. Mason and Fulton drew assists.
The Crunchers play in Forest and Watford this week.
Juniors tie Forest
HENSALL On Sunday, at
Hensall arena, the Exeter Junior
Ringette team tied Forest 9-9.
Chris Chappel scored Exeter's
first goal, from Jamie Sanders, •
with 13:51 left in the first period.
Jill Sararas scored Exeter's next
five goals with Cheyenne West-
lake assisting once, Laura Cook
twice and Chris Chappel and Barb
Mortleyonce each: Sararas' fifth
goal was scored with only'10 sec-
onds left in the first period.
Michelle Bowerman scored Ex-
eter's last three goals, with an as-
sist by Chris Chappel. Two were
unassisted. Michelle's third goal
also tied the game!
Katie Armstrong played excel-
lent in net. She saved a lot of
