Brydges 4-0 at the South Huron Rec Centre Sat- urday afternoon in Lambton- Middlesex Hockey League action, to run their unbeaten streak to eight games to start the year. The first period was scoreless, but in the second, Jason Grenier scored his first of two, from Wayne Cole and Michael Hamather. That was followed up by a goal from Cole,with Grenier and Barry Par- sons assisting. Later in the second, Grenier picked up his second of the game, from Cole and Parsons. Andrew Freiter completed the scoring late in the third, from Rob- bie McIntosh and Matthew Rowe. Both goalies played well, but Ex- eter's Ryan Sullivan recorded the shutout. Exeter's record improves to 5-0-3 on the season. Broncos win pair of shutout games • EXETER - The Exeter Atom Broncos recorded a pair of Sham- rock league shutouts on the week- end. Saturday they blanked Thames - ford 7-0 and edged Forest Sunday at the South Huron Rec Centre. The only goal Exeter could man- age in Forest was scored by Bill Kline, with 46 seconds left. Exeter outshot their opponents 28-8 in the game and could have had a several more goals if it were not for the good played from the Forest netminder. Exeter did rattle the post several times. In Thamesford, Sararas had a hat trick, while singles were scored by Ryan Beckett, Rob Lynn, Jeff MacLean and Chad Gilfillan. Kline had a pair of assists, while Sararas, Clay, and Lynn had one each. Exeter outshot the home team 38- 7 and, as a result, totally dominated the game. Jason Lindenfield stopped every- thing sent in his direction in both games, to record the shutouts. Last Wednesday night, they lost 6-5 to Parkhill in a penalty -filled game at the South Huron Rec Cen- tre, but bounced back Friday night to defeat Dorchester 5-2 . Against Parkhill, Exeter held a 4- 2 lead heading to the final frame, but Parkhill scored four unan- swered goals late in the third to steal the win. Scoring for Exeter were Brett Pee Wees do EXETER - The Exeter Legion Pee Wees improved their Shamrock Hockey League record to 8-2-2 with a 6-3 doubling of Parkhill at the South Huron Rec Centre last Wednesday night. Parkhill opened the scoring on Nathan McCann's unassisted goal just nine seconds into the game. Exeter finally got on the boa -d at 4:39 of the period when Gavin Snell scored from Sean McCann. About 30 seconds later, Exeter took a 2-1 lead on Jim Dietrich's goal from Trevor Taylor. But Parkhill came back to de things up at 2-2 when Jamie Chalmers scored from McCann just 17 seconds after Dietrich. The home team took the lead for good when Steve Stire scored the only goal of the second period at Lammie from John Rooseboom, Mark Burton from Todd McCann, McCann from Burton and Jim Ah- rens, Rooseboom from Jason Hem and Dave Schwindt, and Roose- boom from John Bell. Exeter was assessed 22 minor penalties and Parkhill capitalized with four power -play goals. Dave Mack was given a five-minute ma- jor penalty, a penalty for fighting and a gross misconduct penalty for attacking the referee late in the game. He has since been suspended for his actions but played against uble Parkhill 1:26 Snell connected for his second of the game just 10 seconds into the third, from McCann, giving Exeter a two -goal cushion. But Parkhill made things close again when Nathan McCann scored again, from Shawn Howorth, just 33'seconds into the second. But Exeter put the game away on Ian Jean's goal from Matt Godbolt at 2:19 and McCann's unassisted goal at 4:17. The Pee Wees were scheduled to play in Thamesford Saturday, but that game has been postponed one. week, until this Saturday. That night, Exeter built a 3-0 lead and were able to hang on to beat a short-staffed Dorchester team. Flyers blanked EXETER - -'lite Exeter Novice Flyers hockey team were blanked 2-0 by Strath- roy, at the South Huron Rec Centre Sunday afternoon, in a Lambton-Middlesex League game. The only scoring was done in the second period with goals coming from Danny Hendrix and Shawn Dorres- tyn. Hendrix and • Dorrestyn worked well to set up each other for their goals. Exeter goalie Michael DeYoung played an excellent game and has been playing well over the course of the year so far Exeter's record now stands at 1-7-1.
