ZURICH - What a party! Our
annual Christmas party for the
Residents and their families was
held on Sunday afternoon with a
record number in attendance. Prior
and during the dinner hours, Idella
Gabel played the organ, Bob Hey-
wood took his turn on the accordi-
on and finally Carolyn Love fin-
ished off with a number of organ
renditions. All during [his time,
families were visiting. and enjoy-
ing the turkey and ham pre -
Christmas dinner complete with
all the trimmings. Without the
hard work of all of the staff, par-
ticularly the kitchen staff, mem-
bers of the Auxiliary who worked
their shifts and some Board mem-
bers and their wives who also
pitched in to help, all this would
not have been possible.
We extend our appreciation to
each and everyone for whatever
part they may have played to assist
in this successful event.
Residents enjoyed the video pro-
gram on Monday evening which
showed scenery of winter in Colo-
rado, Central America and a perfor-
mance of Sea World in Florida.
On Tuesday evening, we were
, pleased to have the Christian Re-
formed Choir singing for the Resi-
dents.
The sunshine on Thursday after-
noon prompted some of the Resi-
dents to accept the invitation to go
for bus ride in and through the
Grand Bend arca. Thanks to Marc
Chalut of Bayfield for the outing.

RECYCLING
WEEK '89
November 20-26, 1989
Changing attitudes: Reduce, Reuse, Recycling
1989 is Ontario's fifth annual Recycling Week. Recycling
Week is designed to expand public awareness of the need to
reduce solid waste.
Changing our altitudes' about waste is what it's all about. By
learning how to reduce waste, reuse items over and over or for
new purposes, repair old items rather than replacingas much as
we can, we can contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment.
The Bluewater Recycling Association is committed to this con-
cept. Leading up to and during Recycling Week '89, your mu-
nicipality will be proclaiming Recycling Week and may be host-
ing a number of events to celebrate the week. We will be joining
scores of other Ontario municipalities in promoting the 3R's.
Some of the activities planned for Recycling Week:
- Tours of the recycling facility in Grand Bend available
upon scheduling.
- Exeter has a recycling display in their municipal office.
- Hensall's municipal office has challenged other offices
to save white fine paper during Recycling Week:
- Alvinston's school age kids will be asked questions
regarding recycling to test their knowledge of the 3R's.
- Grand Bend's public school will be visiting the recycling
facilities.
Please share Bluewater's commitment to a healthier future.
