The Church of God morning
worship service was blessed by
the music of the North Lambton
Secondary School's Vocal Con-
nection, who were the guest musi-
cians at the service.
The choir was under the direc-
tion of Mr. Dave Williams, music
department head at the . school.
They sang four pieces, "Ring
Christmas Bells", "Shepherd's
Rocking Carol", "What a Wonder-
ful World", and "Parting Bless-
ing".
Pastor Stan Desjardine focused
his message on Ephesians 3:13-21.
Paul the Apostle prayed in his im-
prisonment for the Christians in
Ephesus, that they would be
strengthened in the inner man, out
of God's 'riches, and that they
would dwell in God's love, giving
Him praise, honor and glory in
every way.
The collection for the Christmas
Bureau of Huron County will be

items, toys and clothing in good

Grand Bend United Church
The Sunday of Christ the King
was celebrated at the Grand Bend
United Church this weekend.
In the sermon based -upon Luke
23: 32-38 and Colossians 1:11-20,
Pastor Colin Stover pointed out
that as we watch the political
events unfolding in Eastern Eu-
rope and around the globe, we rec-
ognize that all the world powers
are under the Dominion of Jesus
our King, for all time.
The hymns included "Jesus
Shall Reign" and "Jesus Blessed
Saviour". -
The Advent folders are availa-
ble. All money offered is going to
the World Development and Re-
lief Fund of the United Church,
which supports development pro-
jects and money for relief efforts
in the Third World.

be held on December 5 at 8 p.m. at
the Catholic Church in Grand
Bend; all ladies are invited to at-
tend.

mas Potluck will . be held on De-

Bible Study
Thirteen ladies braved snowy
conditions to attend the weekly
Bible Study last Tuesday morning
at Sauble Court. Eleanor Durie
opened by reading, "The legend of
the Sand Dollar". Millie Desjardine
led in a hymn sing.
Discussion leader Annabel Walz
finished the study on Section 4
"Mary, the Mother of Jesus", from
the book "Women Who Believed
God". Mary learned of God
through the Angel Gabriel, who
told Zacharius of a son to be born
to him and his old wife Elizabeth.
He 'would be reminded of His
promises to Israel in sending down
a Saviour Messiah, who would
come from the Royal line of David.
This Messiah would tell his people
how to find salvation through for-
giveness of their sins. Janet Desjar-
dine closed with prayer.
Bible study sessions will break
for the hoiday period on December
5 and resume again on January 9.
The December 5 meeting will be-
gin 15 minutes earlier, and be fol-
lowed by a Christmas Party.

Damaging winds - Last Monday night's strong winds did some dam-
age along the beach at Grand Bend, knocking down signs and the
snow fence that had been put up by Public Works. It also brought
high waves that almost reached the municipal parking lot and
washed ashore a picnic table, several ties and these tree branches
which Works Foreman Bud Markham is waiting to get rid of.
