Hawks beaten by Lucan Irish
Continued from page 17
The Hawks were outshot and out-
played most of the game but made
the most of their scoring chances
whenever they managed to get
them. Seaforth outshot the Hawks
28-17 over the game.
Alan Blommaert made a nice
solo rush up the ice from his defen-
sive position and got the puck past
Seaforth goalie Bill Tremmeer with
less than a minute left in the first to
give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Larry
Lewis and Jean-Paul Cousineau
drew the assists on the play.
Scott Taylor's goal from Lewis
made it a 2-0 game at 6:19. of the
second period.
Greg Blackler fired one past
Tremmeer at 10:46 of the middle
period, from Taylor giving the
Hawks a 3-0 Lead.
Brad Carter, Seaforth's leading
scorer, tipped in a shot from the
point at 11:19 of the second break-
ing Clint McCann's shutout bid.
The Hawks connected for a pow-
er -play tally about a minute after
Seaforth got on the board. Harlen
Tinney scored the goal with help
from David Dalrymple and Taylor.
- Even though the Hawks outshot
Seaforth 8-5 in the last period, Sea-
forth rallied in the last 10 minutes
to gain the tie. Don Akey scored
the final two goals for Seaforth,
with the final two tallies coming
with less than a minute to play.
Next game for the Hawks is to-
night, Wednesday, when they make
their first trip to the Lucan Arena
for an 8:15 p.m. game against the
Irish.
On the weekend the Hawks play
a home -and -home series against the
Tavistock Braves, with the first
game coming Friday night at 8:30
at the Tavistock Arena and moving
to the South Huron Rec Centre Sat-
urday night at 8:30 p.m.
