Planning for
25th Bean Festival
in the works

ZURICH - The Bean Festival
Committee met for dinner on Sun-
day and began the process of plan-
ning for next year's highlight of
the Zurich calendar. Next year
will be an'extra-special Bean Fes-
tival because it will be the 25th an-
niversary of the event in Zurich.
Church Fund
Tickets for the second Elimina-
ton Dance and Draw to raise mon-
ey for the St. Boniface Building'
Fund. The dance at the Pineridge
Chalet is on December 13 and
costs $6 per person. Elimination
draw tickets towards the $10,000
are $100 each and only 300 will
be sold.
St. Boniface
The Kindergarten to grade three
students at St. Boniface School
were kept busy on Friday while
dressed in their pyjamas for a
"Nightime Animals" theme day..
They heard bed -time stories,
baked bed -time snacks, and made
crafts.
The kindergarten to grade fours
will be in Exeter today at Precious
Blood School for a presentation of
Pinocchio.

Lillian Paradise arrived from
Toronto the other day to spend
some time with friends Ken and
Dorothy Breakey in Zurich.
Martin Gelinas and his—wife
Cheryl were in Ottawa on the
weekend with his sister Melissa
Beer.
Figure skating
The Zurich and Area Figure
Skating Club were raising funds
for their organization last Saturday
by delivering the new phone
books in Grand Bend.

munity Centre on Saturday. Ad --
mission is $6 per person.

HENSALL - Monday morning
several residents gathered in the
sun room to listen to a tape of the
Hensall United Church service
which is provided for us. In the af-
ternoon many enjoyed playing Bin-
go with the Bethel Reformed wom-
en.
Reverend Don Robinson of
Bruccfield United Church led our
worship service Tuesday afternoon.
It was Rev. Robinson's first service
for us and we look forward to hav-
ing him back. Many residents at-
tended the memorial service held
here at Queensway of the late Idella
Sims. The service was led by our
chaplain Rev. Larry Stojkovic. Idel-
la will be missed by all of us. The
Christian Reformed Singers gave a
program in -tong for us in the eve-
ning •
Wednesday was our big day as
auxiliary, families, staff and the
community supported our annual
Craft and Bake Sale. The sale was a
wonderful success! The winner of
our draw on the exercise bicycle
was Hazel Luther of Northcrest
Apts., various other winners were
toaster oven, Melva Ecker, Cozy
Corner steak dinners Ross McDo-
nald, flower arrangement Nellie Ri-
ley, plate the plant Evelyn Flynn,
cheese tray Hazel Corbett Eriene
Stewart and the silk flower arrange-
ment Donna Smalc. We would like
to thank our wonderful auxiliary,
staff and all the people of the com-
munity who baked and made crafts
for our sale and supported it in any
way.

Nightime animals - St. Boniface School in Zur' h decided there was
no better way to start a day than with a 'bedtime story. Principal
Dave Sharpe read the- story "Ten in a bed" to the kindergarten to
grade three students while the teachers acted it out behind the blan-
ket. The story was the first activity in a theme day entitled "Night-
ime
Nightime Animals".
Hensail church marks anniversary

HENSALL - The Hensall Unit-
ed Church marked its 103rd anni-
versary on Sunday with a special
service. The guest speaker for the
morning was John King, a dairy
farmer from Hickson and the rural
life consultant for the London con-
ference of the United Church.
King's daughter sang a solo and
the junior choir sang "Be Bold, Be
Strong".
The mission and . service fund's
White Gift Sunday will be Decem-
ber 10 this year when a special of-
fering will be received.

and Country Homemakers and the
group has also signed a petition to
be sent to the government protest-
ing the claw back of seniors' pen-
sions.

at the arena last week were Wilma
Davis and Helen Anderson with
420 and 386 respectively.
Walter Spencer, Jean Herr and
Ellen Coutts were clustered close-
ly behind with scores of 307, 305,
and 303.
