LUCAN - St. Patrick's CWL
held their November 15 meeting
in St. Patrick's School, Lucan.
Members have been invited to
both the United Church supper in
Lucan and Holy Trinity Anglican
Church Supper.
Lucan United Church Snowflake
Bazaar is upcoming shortly, on
November 25 from 10:30 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. (Saturday). .
Father Capitano spoke to mem-
bers about sanctions against South
Africa and urged members to boy-
cott products made in South Afri-
ca and Shell Oil and other compa-
nies that promote apartheid.
• Lucan Seniors "Lunch Out" is
coming up this week and it is the
C.W.L.'s turn to prepare the dinner
this month. This is an Outreach
Program which is offered to Lucan
and area seniors whereby the vari-
ous church ladies groups prepare a
hot dinner, the seniors gather at
the Lucan arena and enjoy these
delicious meals and also the fel-
lowship with old and new acquain-
tances.
Terry McRobert of Cteative Af-
fairs in Lucan demonstrated to the
ladies how to make Christmas bas-
ket arrangements for table centre-
pieces for the holiday season. The
ladies " made one each to take
home. A great deal of fun was en-
joyed by all.
Helen Curzon, who has recently
returned from the Philippines Mis-
sion field, gave us a report on her
work there and many, many needs

ing some breakfast "tea instead",
Elizabeth said.
1 got up and tried to climb over
the toaster oven.
"Where arc you going?" Eliza
beth wanted to know.
"I'm going to make myself,a cup
of coffee", I said, "I need coffee to
wake up".
"I can see you don't like breakfast
in bed," said Alexander.
"I love it," I lied. "I love the
oranges, and the bananas, and the
toast (which will burn if you don't
take it out right now), and the but-
ter, and the honey (but not on my
night table), and the strawberry jam
(but not on the carpet). I love it all -
except the coffee. It takes a lot of
practice and life experience- to
make a cup of coffee. Not that there
is anything wrong with the way you
make the coffee. I'm sure there are
people and cultures (maybe in Out-
er Mongolia) who prefer filtered in-
stant coffee to any other coffee, but
as far as I ant concerned, I really
like filtered filter coffee or zapped
instant coffee. I don't like zapped
filter coffee or filtered instant cof-
fee. I guess I'm funny that way."
It was probably the longest
speech I had ever given at 6:30 in
the morning.
Before I could leave the room,
Elizabeth whispered: "Make me a
cup, too!"
When I came back up, the bed-
room was a shambles. There were
crumbs in the bed, dirty plates on
the floor, tea spilled on the dresser,
and honey all over the book I have
been trying to read for the last three
months.
But the kids were happy. Late
that morning, about 7:30, when
Elizabeth and I had finally cleaned
everything up, including a thorough
vacuuming of the floor, Stephanie
came;nto the room:
"You know the Brownie squeeze
I got? Do you think I've now
earned it? By doing my good deed
of the week this morning'?"
"What good decd?"
"Helping to get you breakfast in
bed."
"Yes, you've carried it, honey,"
and I gave her a squeeze and a hug,
too.

LUCAN - Sunday morning Rev.
Roger Mason discussed the condi-
tions of mankind before Jesus re-
turns from II Timothy 3:1-5.
Rev. Roger Mason on Sunday
evening continued the teaching of
the signs happening before Jesus
returns tp earth. Attitudes of unlov-
ing, uNforgiveness, slandering,
without self control, brutal, despis-
ing things that are good, betraying,
headstrong, haughty, lead to loving
pleasure more than loving God.
of those lovely people. She
worked in an orphanage. The Sis-
ters who ran the orphanage made
some crocheted bedspreads and
pillows which will be raffled off
early -in the new year to raise mon-
ey for this worthwhile cause. Hel-
en is planning to return to the Phi-
