Many socks were knitted for the Red Cross. Ruth Hill as convener of "Inter- national Affairs" introduced guest speaker Mr. Joe Lynch, a war vete- ran and retired History -English teacher from North Middlesex Dis- trict High School. He gave a most interesting histo- ry lesson as he explained what led up to World War II and year by year as the war progressed in Eu- rope. Mr. Lynch was with the Canadi- an Army through Italy, Sicily, Ger- many and Holland. Hazel Cunningham thanked Mr. Lynch and presented him with a small gift of appreciation.
