Bombers Win,tie
EXETER - The Exeter Novice •
Bombers picked up a win and a tie
against two different Parkhill teams
in Lambton Middlesex Hockey
Leagueraction last week.
Friday night, the tied Parkhill 2
6-6 in Parkhill but bumped off
Parkhill 3 4-3 Saturday afternoon
at the South Huron Rec Centre.
In Friday night's contest, Exeter
led 4-2 after one period but Park-
hill came back to get on even terms
at 5-5 after the second. Each team
scored once in the third to keep the
contest deadlocked.
In the first period for Exeter, Ja-
son Grenier and Robbie McIntosh
each scored twice, with Tyler Tay-
lor and Wayne Cole picking up
first -period assists.
Andrew Taylor picked up a sec-
ond -period, unassisted tally for the
locals, while Taylor netted one in
the third, from Chris Frayne to keep
it tied.
Grenier had the hot slick for Exet-
er in Saturday's game, firing a hat
trick, scoring once in each of the
three periods. Frieter picked up the
only assist in the second. Taylor
had the only other goal for Exeter
in the game.
Exeter's record now stands at 3-0-
2.
Panthers complete season

ST. MARYS - South Huron Dis-
trict High School's Junior and Sen-
ior boys' volleyball teams complet-
ed regular -season play at a
tournament in St. Marys last Tues-
"• day and are both on their way to
the Huron -Perth finals tomorrow
(Thursday) in Stratford.
The Senior boys finished their
regular season with 21 straight
wins on their way to a second -place
finish behind defending provincial
champions, Stratford Central..
On Tuesday, the Panthers took
six wins. Over Stratford Northwest -
em, the boys took victories of 15-2,
15-8 an 15-10. Against St. Marys,
they easily took wins of 15-2, 15-4
and 15-8.
The team now participates in the
Huron -Perth final tournament at
Stratford Central tomorrow.
The Junior Panthers now stand
with a regular season record of 25-
5. Although this ties Stratford Cen-
tral's record, the Panthers defeated
Central in three games throughout
the season therefore taking first
place.
On Tuesday, the boys defeated
Stratford Northwestern 16-14 and
15-11 and took one loss of 15-10.
Against St. Marys the Panthers
claimed victories of 15-11, 15-10
and 15-9.
The junior Huron -Perth final is
also held tomorrow at Stratford
Northwestern.
South Huron also has the privi-
lege to host this year's Western On-
tario (W.O.S.S.A.) championships:

Doubles five -pin championships
starts this week in all Ontario.
Five -Pin Association affiliated
leagues, including the Bluewater
Zone and Zurich Town and Coun-
try five -pin Association.
Under the six-week format the
highest average league bowler is
matched with the lowest average
bowler, second highest with the
second lowest etc., as doubles
teams who must match or beat their
combined league averages every
week to advance to the Hiram
Walker Special Old zone round
-January 14.
The Walker Special Old Associa-
tion Executives' Championships
will be rolled Saturday at Toronto
prior to the 16th -annual awards
dinner for inductees to the Five Pin
Bowling Hall of Fame Saturday
night at the Skyline Hotel. The On-
tario Five -Pin Association's semi-
annual meeting follows Sunday at
11 a.m. Bluewater and Zurich
Town and Country Association del-
egates will participate. •
Patti -Ann Dickert rolled a 1,054
five -game series Sunday to take
third place in the zone round of the
Southern. Ontario Youth Bowling
Council Senior Mixed team tourna-
ment roll off at Port Elgin.
She is now a member of the
Bluewater All-Star squad of the top
three girls and top three boys
which will now compete for the
Southern Ontario title November
25 at Ottawa.
Dickcrt, 15, is a product of the
National Certified coaching and in-
structional staff supervised Y.B.C.
program at Zurich Town and Coun-
try lanes Saturday mornings and
Sunday evenings. •
Kristle Gallagher, 9 leads the
girls division of the Town and
Country Y.B.C. Bantam league
with the highest personal average
at 130; highest triple 440 and high-
est single 182.
Jim T'nnmme..'s 135 average and
496 triple leads the boys division.
• Brad Brown has the 190 highest
single.
Zurich Intertown men's team was
completely outclassed 45.3 at Mo-
lesworth S;itnrday despite • Ron
Dann's 1,175, Luke Mommer-
stecg's 1,113, Vic Gallagher Sr's.
1,099 and Frank Palen's 1,005 five
game scores.
Franz Eckert's.1,500 (344), Dale
Taylor's 1,342 and Gord Mathe-
con's 1,312 scores helped Moles-
worth pile up a near record 7,612
five game team total pinfall.
Zurich travels to Wingham Satur-
day. .
The Junior boyskwill be held on Fri-
day, November 11 and the Seniors'
Saturday, November 18.
Panthers get good goaltending,
pick up pair of victories
EXETER - The Exeter Novice Panthers got good goaltending
from Mark Bilinsky last week and picked up a par of wins in the
Lambton-Middlesex,Hockey League.
Friday night, the Panthers shutout Watford 2-0 at the South Huron
Rec Centre and beat Muncey 3-1 at the Mt. Brydges Arena Sunday
afternoon.
Craig Overholt opened the scoring just 13 seconds into Saturday's
game,. with assists going to Tony Eagleson and Caleb Johns, for the_
winners.
The second period Friday night was scoreless with Bilinsky mak-
ing strong saves to kept his shutout in tact.
The Panthers picked up an insurance goal at 7;31 of the third when
Michael Wilhelm netted one with assists going to Mark Shepley and
Ryan Ralph.

It was Bilinsky's second shutout of the year.
Exeter's Matthew Szabo scored the first goal in Sunday's game in
the first period with the lone assist going to Tony Eagleson.
Muncey scored the only goal of the second period and the game
headed to the thifti tied 1-1.
But Wilhelm broke the game open with a pair of goals in the third.
One of the goals was unassisted and the other was assisted by
Shepley.
Bilinsky kept Exeter in the lead with more excellent saves in the
thirdsperiod.

League champs - The Zurich Cobras won the South Huron Baseball
League championship and received their trophies for winning at the
league banquet Saturday night in Vanastra. Front row, (left to right),
