London Business Expo Oct. 27-29 LONDON - Over 30 franchises and dealerships will be on display at the London Business Opportuni- ties Expo, .October 27-29, 1989 at the Western Fair Grounds Progress Building. The show affords the would-be entrepreneur the chance to view offerings in fields as varied as instant printing, fast foods and exercise machines to vending equipment, tanning machines, lawn care, business services, security firms, limousine companies, water purification systems and many more. Full and part-time invest- ments, ranging from $3,000 to $300,000 will be exhibited. For over 12 years, Prestige Pro- motions has successfully staged Business Opportuniities Expos across the country. These shows have resulted in thousands of Cana- dians being self-employed. Small Business Consultant and Show Pro- ducer, Bob Sinclair, says "Most of (fie people who come to each Expo don't know what they're looking for when they come through the door. Some are looking for the pot of gold at the rainbow's end, but most are just ordinary people looking to become their own boss with better control of their future. Franchise and dealership litera- ture and information will be given Third meeting of Eager Eaters DASHWOOD - The 4-H mem- bers of the Dashwood Eager Eaters met for their third meeting. The topic "Make it Snappy" gave helpful hints on quick meals and what to do with leftovers. The girls worked on their books and then made a nutritious salad and dressing. The next meeting is Wednesday October 25. Mrs. Barbara Mcisaac, Mt. Cle- mens, stayed with Bill and Nancy Becker and visited in the area for a week. We welcome Robert Allen and Laura Everett, the new owners of the Country Cafe. It is great to have the facilities open again. They will cater to family groups, organizations. Menndnite Youth stop paper collection Scouts' Apple 'Day raises $245 By Carmel Sweeney ZURICH - Despite Saturday's rainy weather the Zurich Cubs, Scouts, and Beavers still showed bnough enthusiasm to raise about $245 for their clubs. About 90 percent of the money raised stays with the Zurich Scout- ing groups, and 10 percent goes to the district. A special thanks goes to Du- charme's Apple Orchard for sup- plying the apples. Paper drive over . There will no longer be a paper drive in Zurich. The Mennonite Church Youth Group are giving up the collection of newsprint, citing the problems with its collection and storage. The project was not a major fundraiser for the group any- way. Basically, they are giving the green light for village residents to include their old newspapers with their recyclables for blue box col- lection. Right to Life The Stratford and District Right to Life group are holding their an- nual dinner on Tuesday November 9. The guest speaker will be Dr. Keith Cassidy of Guelph. Abe and Connie Demoy have re- turned from a three-week holiday in Holland, visiting with relatives. Doug Masse and Deb Creces were married in Grand Bend on Saturday.
