EXETER - The Exeter Legion Pee
Wees won their only two sched-
uled games last week.
Friday night they doubled Lucan
4-2 in Lucan, and beat Strathroy by
the sante score Sunday night. •
Exeter held a 1-0 lead. heading
into the final period Friday night
but exploded for three third -period
goals and held on for the; win.
Scoring for Exeter were; Steve
Stire from Gavin Snell and Andrew
- Hern, Sean McCann unassisted and
• McCann from Snell and Trevor
Taylor from Snell.
McCann scored three of the four
goals in Sunday's game, two went
unassisted and one was from Ian
Jean. Snell had the other goal from
Jean and McCann.
Exeter will play host to Ilderton
tonight, Wednesday, and travel to
Lambeth for a 6:30 p.m. game Fri-
day night.
Irish tie
TAVISTOCK - The Lucan Irish
kept their unbeaten streak alive Fri-
day night when they came back
from a 4-1 deficit after two periods
to tie the Tavistock Braves 4-4 in
Tavistock.
Greg Deprest opened the scoring
in the game for the Irish when he
tallied early in the first period,
from Darren Neil and Brian Reath.
Tavistock took a 2-1 led before
the first was over and increased it
to 4-1 by the end of the second, be-
fore Lucan finally came to life in
the third.
Scoring in the third for Lucan
were; Andy Ross from Deprest, De-
prest from Neil and Jeff Hirtzel
from Brian Schuyler and John
McEachem to tie the game with
time winding down.
All four Tavistock goals came
while they enjoyed a power -play
advantage.
Next game for the Irish will. be
Sunday afternoon when they travel
to Seaforth for a 1:30 p.m. game
against the Centenaires. Next home
game will be one week from to-
night, November 1 when the
Wellesley Applejacks pay a visit at
8:15 p.m.

Midgets blank Lucan
EXETER - The Exeter Midget
Generals picked up three points in
two Shamrock League games last
week.
Last Wednesday night the locals
tied Mt. Brydges 3-3 at the South
Huron Rec Centre and Friday night
blanked Lucan 7-0 at the Lucan
Arena.
In Last Wednesday's game, Exet-
er had built a 3-1 lead scoring all
three goals in the second period,
but the visitors came back to gain
the tie in the third.
Scoring for Exeter were; Joel
Campbell from Brett Borden, Dave
Schwindt unassisted, and Borden
from Chris Gardner.
In Lucan, Exeter scored three
times in the first and twice in each
of the second and third frames.
Scoring for Exeter in this game
were; Mark Burton unassisted, Bor-
den from Campbell, John Bell from
Ryan Lindenfield and Gardner, Ja-
son Heywood from Campbell,
Schwindt from Jamie Cornish and
Brett Lammie, John Rooseboom
unassisted and Campbell unassist-
ed.
Jason Clarke stopped all Lucan
shots to record the shutout. -
Exeter travelled to Strathroy for a
game yesterday, Tuesday and will
play host to Ilderton tonight,
Wednesday, at 9 p.m., .before trav-
elling to Lambeth Friday night for
an 9:15 p.m. game.

beek, Chris Gardner, Andrea Francis, Debbie Regier, Chris Campbell. The club plays every Thursday
night at SHDHS, and the cost for the season is $20.
Novice Flyers win one of four
EXETER - The Exeter Novice 4
Flyers played three times last week
and recorded one win in the three
games in Lambton-Middlesex
Hockey League play.
On October 15, Parkhill defeated
Exeter 5-2 in Exeter, the locals lost
8-3 in Forest Saturday and bounced
back to beat Strathroy 5-3 Sunday
night.
Parkhill led 3-1 after one period
and 5-2 after the second last Sun-
day. Kevin Hogan scored the fust
two for Parkhill unassisted, before
Peter Fragiskatos got Exeter in the
board later in the first. Adam Keld-
ers made it 3-1 before the.inital pe-
riod was over.
In the second, Kelders scored
two more early in the period, be-
fore Stephen Rasenberg closed out
the scoring for Exeter in the sec-
ond. The final period was score
less.
The locals fell behind 6-0 at the
end of two periods in Forest before
Broncos win two of three
EXETER - The Exeter Atom
Broncos won two of 'three Sham=
rock League games played on the
weekend.
Friday night, they pounded Port
Stanley 8-1, edged Strathroy 2-1
Saturday and lost a close 2-1 con-
test to Ilderton Sunday.
Jeff Sararas had the hot stick Fri-
day night firing a hat trick, while
Jeff MacLean and David Farquhar
hit with a pair each and the single
goal was scored by Rob Lynn.
Sararas, Farquhar, and Ryan
Beckett each had two assists, while
one each went to Adam Hem and
Chad Gilfillan.
Exeter fired 30 shots on goal,
while Pt. Stanley only had half as
many on Exeter goalie Jason Lin-
denfield, who recorded the shutout.
Scoring the goals in the win over
Strathroy were; Nathan Hern, from
Gilfillan and Lynn and Farquhar
from Beckett and Sararas.
Each team had 15 shots on goal
and Lindenfield was the winning
goalie again.
Sunday's game was scoreless un-
til Ilderton scored with 5:15 left in
the game while Exeter was short-
handed.
It was Exeter's first loss of the
young season.
Panthers bow in two straight

PARKHILL - On the weekend,
South Huron District High School's
Senior girls' basketball team played
in the North Middlesex District
High School's Invitational Tourna-
ment, but were knocked out of the
running after two quick losses.
On Friday, the Panthers met
Banting Secondary School of Lon-
don. Their competitors took an
easy lead in the first half of play
and although the locals continued
to play hard, they fell 42-27.
Michelle Caers and Christine
Rose played well, contributing
eight points each. Julia Merner

Against Lambton Central High
School of Petrolia, SH played an
extremely competitive game. At
half time, Lambton Central held a
18-10 lead over the Panthers.
In the second half of play, SH
chipped away at the margin and
managed to come within a few bas-
kets of catching their opponents.
Unfortunately, Central took the win
28-22.
Rose was top scorer again with
13 point. Team captain Michelle
Ellison - followed with five and
Caers and Merner added two
apiece.
finally hitting the scoresheet three
times in the final period but it
wasn't enough.
Jason Miles scored twice for Ex-
eter, one unassisted and one.from
Robe? DeVries, and Stephen Far-
quhar had the other, from Jason Da-
vey.
Against Strathroy, Exeter led 2-0
after one period and 5-3 after the
second.
Andrew Hann had both local
goals in the first period and Jason
Davies added a second period tally,
from Jason Miles.
In the third, Fragiskatos scored
unassisted and DeVries scored from
Drew Atthill.
