Irish unbeaten in five games SEAFORTH - The Lucan Irish kept their unblemished record in- tact Sunday afternoon when they beat the Seaforth Centenaires 7-4, in Seaforth, to improve their record to 4-0-1. Lucan lead 2-1 after one period and upped it 5-2 after the second and hung on in the third for the win. Greg Deprest kept up his hot scoring attack with his first of three on the day mid -way through 'the first period, from a goal from Andy Ross and Jamie Pearce. After Seaforth got on the board with just over four minutes left in the first, Lucan took a 2-1 lead on Midgets lose 2-1 EXETER The Exeter Midget Generals hockey team lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to short-staffed Ilder- ton team at the South Huron Rec Centre last Wednesday night and dropped an 11-6 decision in Lamb- eth Friday night. The home team got on the board first last Wednesday, with an unas- sisted goal by John Bell at 3:08 of the middle period. Penalties cost Exeter dearly in the last period however. It stayed 1-0 Exeter until 10:15 of the third whcn Brent Carmichael scored for Ilderton, from Mark Robson, while on the power play. Lambeth took the lead for good, scoring the game -winning goal with just 17 seconds to play. Rob- son did the damage, from Shawn Morrison and Tom Hack, again while on the power -play, sending the horns -town fans heartbroken. Lambeth 11 Exeter 6 Lambeth broke open a 7-6 lead early in the third period and cruised to an easy win scoring four unan- swered goals in the third period. Next game for Exeter is Sunday when they travel to Forest for an 8:35 p.m. contest. Seaforth got back on even terms early in the second but the tie didn't last long because just 32 seconds after Seaforth tied it up Lucan went ahead for good on Joe Febrey's goal from Rick Weishar and added two more goals later in the second. De- prest got his second from Pearce and Ross and Pearce scored from Schuyler. Each team scored twice in third period. Deprest completed his hat trick from Ross and Kevin Leitch and Febrey got his second, from Tuckey. Scaforth, while singles went to Paul MacIlwain and Ted Sills: The Irish will play their first home game since October 4 tonight when the Wellesley Applejacks will be at the Lucan Arena for an 8:15 p.m. game. Friday night Lucan travels to Mitchell for an 8:30 p.m. contest with the Hawks. The Irish will also be hosting their annual fun night, Saturday night from 8-1 p.m., at the Lucan Community Centre Hall. Tickets are 55 a couple which includes an entry into a special draw. Novice Flyers play even with Lucan 2 EXETER - The Exeter Novice 4 Flyers played Lucan 2 to a 4-4 draw at the South Huron Rec Centre Sunday afternoon. Lucan held a 3-1 lead after one period, but were shutout in the second, while Exeter scored twice to tie. Each team tallied once in the third. Scoring for Exctcr in the game were; Andrew Hann with a pair, one unassisted and one from Robert DeVries and Steven Rasenberg with a pair, one from Hann' and one from DeVrics. Scoring for Lucan were; Ted Chatterson unassisted, Craig Goosens, from Mau Thompson and Andrew Stansell, Eric Yco from Chattersons, and Stansell from Goosscns. With four minutes left in the first period, Mark McDo- nald scored for Exeter from a scramble in front of the Ilder- ton net. Jeremy Brock scored later in the first for Exeter, an .un- assisted tally from the point to give Exeter a 2-0 lead. Ilderton then scored once in the second and took a 3-2 lead in third before Al McFalls got Exeter back on even terms for good on a nice passing play between himself and Brian Gandrew.
