BLYTH - The Rolling Stones
song, 'Paint It Black' doesn't usual-
ly conjure up visions of dancing
Cossack's shouting "Hoy!" But The
Romaniacs create their own ver-
sion of this tune plus much, much
more with their energetic and fun -
filled style of music. You'll never
see anything like them. Critics la-
bel their music, "ethno-fusion from
the ethno-fringe" but audiences
flock to see them at Folk Festivals
and request their music repeatedly
on radio stations across Canada.
The Romaniacs invade the stage of
the Blyth Memorial Hall on No-
vember 12, 1989 at 8:00 p.m. as
part of the Festival of Entertain-
ment Series.
These wacky comedians and mu-
sicians describe their beginnings as
follows. "As legend would have it,
the four young brothers were in a
daily line-up outside the govern-
ment shoe store at East Bucharest
Mall when Mama Romaniac mys-
teriously ran off into the sunset.
The lads were then "tragically sep-
arated" and dispatched to far flung
parts of the world, bul they kept

EXETER - Our Birthday list for
this week is very short. Best Wish-
es to Viola Beavers and staff mem-
ber Julie Duckworth.
Last Monday, residents in the
nursing home held their monthly
birthday. Our only guest of honour
was Wilfrid Shapton. We were
pleased to be able to serve the To-
mato Cake Soup made by our own
ladies. Thanks so much to Laureen
Shapton and Marg Carroll for all
their help.
We are always so glad to see the
Legion Ladies for Bingo. Thanks
so much to Mrs. Pfaff, and her
faithful helpers.
Our poetry corner has been a real
success. Once a month we gather
together to listen or to share poems
on recitations. We were pleased
this month that Rita Smith brought
along her Fourth Reader. There
were so many poems that were re-
membered well.

Fast food at
Exeter 4-H
EXETER - The second meeting
of the Exeter 4-H Good Food Fast
was on October 16 at 7:00 p.m.
President Terri Snell opened with
our 4-H pledge and roll call. Next
Amy Walper took attendance, all
members were present.
•
The group talked about conven-
ience foods and learned about the.
kinds of snacks you should eat.
We split up into two groups,
clean-up and cooking. The cooking
group made three kinds of macaro-
ni: Kraft dinner, homemade maca-
roni and Stouffers frozen macaroni.
The clean up group had to clean
up our mess, make grape spritzer
and go ahead in the book. While
they cleaned up we read Chapter
two and drank the spritzer. We all
got to try the macaroni and make
comments in our books. We dis-
cussed what we would do for an
achievement program. Terri ad-
journed the meeting at 9:00 p.m.
