There was a party the weekend before at the arena in honor of Herb Turkheim and his bride-to-be Pam Battersby. A bridal shower for Patty Regier was_held at St. Peter's in St. Joseph on Sunday. Patty is the fiancee of , Joey Groot and they are to be mar- ried in November. Thanks again to all. 1cent BRING -A -FRIEND SALE Hensall news By Susan Hartman HENSALL - The United Church Thursday afternoon ladies' group will be meeting tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. and the junior choir will be meeting later for a 45 -minute prac- tice at 6:30 p.m. The senior choir practice follows at 7:30 p.m. and, of course, new members are always welcome to these groups. The United Church bible study group is meeting Sunday morning at 9:15 continuing its topic of "sur- viving in exile". Shuffleboard Last week the Happy Pushers re- corded Dave Kyle and Annie Reid as the high scoring six game players, racking up 335 and 259 points, respectively. Five -game winners were Pearl McKnight with a 298, Dave Wood- ward at 276 and Helen McKay not far behind at 262. Three Links The Three Links Senior Citizens held their first euchre of the season on September 26. The high scor- ing lady was Beatrice Richardson, but the highest man's score was also recorded by a woman playing to fill one of the six tables in play, Pearl McKnight.
