Rev. Ed Laksmanis covenanted
CREDITON - Close to 100 per-
sons attended a special service Sun-
day night at Crediton United
Church.
The occasion was the covenant-
ing of the church's new minister
Rev. Ed Laksmanis.
Church elder Larry Ratz was the
presider. The Se,muil was provided
by Rev. Douglas Wright of Hen -
salt United Church; Rev. Richard
Hawley of Exeter United Church
was the chair of Presbytery and the
representative of Presbytery was
Rev. Bill Jones of Kirkton United
Church.
Greetings were brought by Pres-
bytery lay delegate Leila Finkbein-
er, Stephen township reeve Tom
Tomes and Crediton village trustee
Fred Bowers.

The Crediton Women's Institute
members wish to thank the resi-
dents of Crediton for their excellent
response to the recent canvass on
behalf of the South Huron Hospital
Auxiliary. A total of $344 was col-
lected.

A number of Crediton residents
attended the funeral of the late Ho-
ward Haist in Pelham, Monday af-
ternoon.
Mr. Haist was married to the for-
mer Ruby Finkbeiner, sister of
Mrs. Harold Fahner and the late Al-
vin Finkbeiner.
Those attending were: Mrs. Mar-
guerite Finkbeiner, Eric, Thelma,
Anita and Jeremy Finkbeiner, Deb-
bie Lord and Ray and Grace Mor -
lock.
