As quoted from the Prayer of Ap- proach, "O God whose glory is sung by organ notes, melodious choirs and crying babies as well as angels" our church was indeed alive - .with music and our choir was full to overflowing with past, present and new members. The men's quar- tet, Pat Skinner, Carf Cann, Norm Walper and Don McCaffery, favored us with the selection "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder. and Don- na St. John sang "0 Divine Re- deemer". Following the choir anthem "Come, Come Ye Saints" Rev. Hawley, Ada Dinney and Bruce Shapton presented Robert Cameron with a gift in honor of his twenty- three and a half years of service as our organist and choir director. Rev. Hawley, quoting from Erma Merry Rags Bombeck, spoke about living life to its' fullest and Ada on behalf of the choir recounted some of their memories with Robert. Bruce Shapton, chairman of the Official Board, likened Robert's work at Exeter United to that of the work of farmers, with Robert sow- ing the seeds of music at the con- sole, the choir nurturing that seed and bringing it to maturity and we the congregation reaping the har- vest. -In appreciation of Robert's faithful service and for his gifts of music over years, Robert was then presented with a beautiful portrait. There was also a luncheon shared in his honour after the service. For -your calendars please take note of the following dates for this week.
