Three weddings for Thames Road Minister.

Macgregor officiated at three wed-
dings last weekend.
Sherry Gilfillan was .married -to
Brion Penhale, on Friday evening
on the lawn of her parents, Mr. and.
Mrs. Bill Gilfillan in Exeter. Tracy
Coward married Ian Gillespie at
Elimville United Church on Satur-
day afternoon and Joanne Hodgert
apd Don McIntosh were married'on
Saturday, afterinoon on the lawn of
her parents home, Mr. and Mrs.
Mac Hodgert. Congratulations. to
all three couples.

Area teachers at convention

of the Huron Women Teachers' As-
sociation recently attended the.An-
nual Meeting of the Federation of
Women Teachers Association's of
Ontario held in Toronto.
Huron W,T.A. had two distin-
guished award winners at the annual
meeting. Carol Simons, a retired
teacher who served as primary -
junior affirmative action coordinator
and also held a variety of Federation
offices including Huron W.T.A.

p.m. in the Scout Hall. This will
take the form of a pot -luck dinncr

sion and to the Federation. .
Mary Ellen Walsh, a principal on
leave from the Huron Public Board "
of Education, is pursuing a Doctor-
al program in education at OISE-in
Toronto. Walsh's study involves as-
sessing the -effects of rotary time ta-
bling on intermediate students and
relating it .to the OSIS guidelines.
She was the recipient of the Flor-
ence I Henderson Fellowship, a
$7500 award. Walsh is a past presi-
dent of Huron W.T.A.
More than 690 delegates from
across Ontario debated professional
issucs including immigrant chil-
dren, affirmative action, racism,
special education and teacher short-
age.
The delegates .overwhelmingly
confirmed thcir commitment to
their professional organization as a
strong voice for elementary women
teachers. Grey County vice-
president Helen Penfold was re-
elected president.
The Federation, which represents
Ontario's 36,600 women public
elementary school teachers, is the
largest teacher organization in Onta-
no.

on Sunday afternoon, August 27,
for Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hankin at
their home in honour of their 40th

Christian Education rally
at Lucan Revival Centre
LUCAN - Dan Wuerch conducted
the Christian Education Rally ser-
vice Sunday morning. The Son -
seekers Safari sang their theme
song. Puppets trlked about. their
fun on the Safari. The children sang
My Best Friend.
Puppets Miss Prissy and other
talked about her lost scarf one used
to clean thcir dirty windshield.
Children sang My Father Loves
Mc. Puppets discussed leaving as
Safari was oyer. The Mini Musicale
closed with Misses Cherise Wucrch
and Karen Dance singing the Lord's
Prayer:
Cheryl Wuerch prayed for a Sun-
day School teacher, when her chil-
dren brought a bearded "Professor
Early", who started showing all the
gadgets he had to keep children oc-
cupied during Sunday School.
Mrs. Wucrch asked him about his
qualifications, which were not quite
up to spiritual standards, but hu-
morous. Mrs. Wucrch told of the
staff and teachers for the Christian
Education Department startin(next
Sunday moming at 10:00.

Schinkleshock, and elder Mr. Bruce
Henry, closedwith prayer for each
teacher.
Rev. Roger Mason led the Sun-
day. evening farewell service for
Rev. and Mrs. Schinkleshock, then
sang the last verses. Mrs. Jeannette
:Schinkleshock spoke from Genesis.
28:10-22. Mrs. Schinkleshock re-
viewed the story of how Jacob de-
ccived•his father to get the family
.blessing and birthright. When his
twin brother Esau heard he threat-
ened to kill Jacob. Jacob fled. On
the way he had a vision of God's
blessings for him.
Mrs. Schinkleshoek told of how
God spoke to her when her life was
in turmoil. Like Jacob, she made a
decision Co follow God, trusting
God to be with her.
Douglas and ,Martha Butler joy-
fully sang You're My Brother,
You're My Sister.
Rev. Pieter Schinkleshock spoke
from John 6:28-40, showing the
bread of life is Jesus Christ, -a gift
from God. Just as we cannot live
without bread,- so. we cannot find
eternal life without the bread of life,
Jesus Christ.
After the service, members and
friends enjoyed a time of fellowship
and refreshment in the Fellowship
hall. - -
