AFFECTING THE TOWNSHIP OF TUCKERSMITH
- TO DETERMINE THE NEED FOR REVISIONS TO THE
TUCKERSMITH TOWNSHIP SECONDARY PLAN
- TO CONSIDER A PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Huron and the Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Tuckersmith will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, September 19, 1989 at 8:00
p.m. in the Council Chambers, Vanastra to consider the following: -
1. To allow the public to comment on the need for revisions of the Secondary Plan for the Township of Tucker -
smith under section 26 of the Planning Act, 1983. The Planning Act requires that municipalities provide the
public with the opportunity through a special meeting of Council to comment on the need for revisions to the
Secondary Plan. This meeting is an opportunity for persons with comments or suggested changes to make
their thoughts known to Council.
2. To consider a proposed official plan amendment under section 17 of the Planning Act, 1983. The proposed
plan amendment would update the existing Secondary Plan and includes the following:
(a) update the plan by replacing references to the 1980 Planning Act with references to the 1983 Planning
Act
(b) add provisions under Section 35 of the Planning Act, allowing Council to use Holding Zone provisions;
(c) add policies allowing for accessory residences to establish in conjunction with commerciaVindustrial
property in Vanastra. This will only be permitted where the commerciaVindustrial use abuts a residential
designation and these policies will be labeled cottage industries;
(d) add policies regulating the establishment of condominiums;
(e) add additional policies to the natural environment section of the plan to allow existing lots designated
natural environment a residence;
(f) to redesignate approximat:ly .76 acr:: ,1 land, including an existing restaurant and adjacent to Vanas-
tra and located on Part Lot 4 , Conc sion 1, L.R.S., from Restricted Agriculture to Vanastra (Commer-
cial/Industrial) - (See attached ' a•
(g) to resdesignate certain lands, located on Part Lot 47, Concession 1, L.R.S. (Vanastra) from Restrict-
ed Agriculture to Commercial/Industrial. These lands have frontage of approximately 300 metres on 7th
Avenue (see Key Map).
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support
of or in opposition to the proposed official plan amendment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed official plan amendment is available for inspection
between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Huron County Department of Planning and Development (524-2188) or
at the Township of Tuckersmith Municipal Office (482-9523).

19, 1989 at theThedford-Bosanquet Arena from 3.p.m. to 8.p.m. Rep-

VARNA - The Thirteenth Annual
Lakeside service of worship for Var-
na -Goshen charge was held Sunday
August 13 at 11 a.m. at the Stanley
Park with many members and visi-
tors in attendance.
Rev. Sam Parker favored the chil-
dren and adults with the children's
song "Father Abraham". This kept
cvcryone on their tots doing the ap-
propriate movements, both young
and old! Barbara Ann and Deb Rath -
well sang a duct "How Great Thou
Art".
A delicious Pot Blessing Meal
was enjoyed.
Sports followed. Children en-
joyed different races. Adults played
name bingo with Margie Elliot be-
ing the winncr. The green side won
the spelling bee, which tested eve-
ryone on their spelling and their
speediness! Next was a relay race
feeding the one behind you raisins
with a toothpick.
The winner of the guessing of the
Chocolate Kisses went to Mary
Chcsscll, Rachel Van Slighcnhorst
and Charles Reid. They all guessed
the same amount, 98 to be exact.
Everything was great, the weather
was excellent and everyone who
helped in any way is to be thanked
for planning such a special day of
fellowship and fun!
Sunday August 20 is a Joint
Communion Service at Goshen at
10:30 a.m.
Youth Group meets Tuesday, Au-
gust 15 at 2 p.m. at the manse to
plan thcir Rctrcat at Cheslcy Lake.

Play day on Monday, August 21
is Nature Day. A day full of aware-
ness of nature. They will take a na-
ture hike and make crafts from na-
tuie.
Wednesday, August 23 is the
Farewell Filmic. This is the last day
so there will he a surprise movie
and craft. Books will he made to get
everyone's autograph.

were visiting over the weekend.
Ron and Joyce Taylor had thcir
son and his wife, Craig and Shelley,
and baby daughter Aryn visit with
them for two weeks, from Morin-
ville, Alberta. A gathering for fami-
ly and friends was held on Sunday,
July 30 with about 100 people in
attendance.
