Lawn bowling tournament
EXETER - The annual Bankers and Businessmen bowling tourna-
ment was held on Wednesday, August 9 with bowlers from Wood-
stock, St. Marys, Stratford, Mitchell, Seaforth, Clinton, Goderich,
Lucknow, Exeter and three rinks from London.
Business men donating to the tournament were; Darlings, Veals,
Nabisco, Burkleys and Bank of Nova Scotia.
'Top bowlers of the day were Lou Cundari and Reg Near, St. Marys
with three wins and 59.
Other winners were; Don Palmer rink from London, Jack Bayliss
rink from London, Jack Fisher rink from Lucknow, Cecil Nadalin
rink from London, Art Finlayson rink from Seaforth, Syd Bartlett
rink from London, Don Sibley rink from Woodstock, Walter West-
brook rink from Mitchell, Grant McKellar rink from London; Don
Haines rink from Clinton, Wes Watson rink from London, Allan
Gledhill rink from Goderich, Dave Colclough rink from London.
Consolation went to the Glenn Keane rink.

CENTRALIA - The Exeter Pee -
Wee Royals won the "A" Champi-
onship of the Usborne Softball
League on the weekend in Central-
ia.
Exeter, who finished in second
place during the regular season with
an 8-3-1 record defeated Centralia
24-5 in the championship game.
Every player but two scored at
leasytworuns in the rout, with Tre-
vor Gregoire leading the way with a
triple and four runs scored.
Winning pitcher Steve Cook
walked eight and struck out 17 for
victory.
Exeter had earlier defeated Fullar;.
ton 10-9 and Hibbert 17-6 to ad-
vance to the championship game.
The win gave the Royals their
second championship in.two years
as they won the B championship of
the same league in 1988.
Runners up - The Dashwood Bears were ''A" Division runners up in the Dashwood Rookies Slow -
Pitch Tournament held on the weekend, los ing to the Zurich Eagles in the championship game. The
