sons participated in Saturday's suc-
cessful launch of a campaign to es-
tablish a Wheels to Nature program
at Rock Gien.

Nature at Rock Glen launched
Wheels to Nature will provide
wheelchair accessability to many of
the trails at the Rock Glen Conser-
vation Area.
The first section of `trails has
been completed and many visitors
in wheelchairs made the tour Satur-
day afternoon. •
Heading the committee to estab-
lish Wheels to Nature are Middles-
ex warden Charles Corbett of Brin-
sley and Nancy Glendinning of
Parkhill.
Mrs. Glendinning is a victim of
Multiple Sclerosis. She said Satur-
day, " We are so happy with the re-
sponse we have had to our propo-
sal. I know that many others, like
myself, will enjoy being able to
visit Rock Glen and view its dis-
play of trees, flowers and wildlife in
its unique natural setting in our
wheelchairs."
A number of substantial financial
contributions were made to the pro-
ject, Saturday. Paul Dykeman of
Lucan on behalf of Lions clubs
making up Zone 24 North presented
a cheque for $3,500 and Middlesex
warden Larry O'Neill said $9900 was
being donated from the county's re-
cent annual golf tournamnet.
Also providing generous assis-
tance were the Rea Family Founda-
tion, the Bluewater Shrine Club and
the Camel Coach Unit of Mocha
Temple.
,A large number of Shriners par-
ticipated in Saturday's rally with
their motor bikes along with mem-
bers of Rocky's Cycle Club of Lon-
don and Ailsa Craig's Craigholme
residents in their wheelchairs.
Chaitman Don Lithgow of the
Ausable Bayfield Conservation Au-
thority said all gate receipts Satur-
day would go to Wheels to Nature.
Construction of the acessability
trails at Rock Glen is under the di-
rection of ABCA works superinten-
dent Ted Jones.
National director of the Canadian
Multiple Sclerosis Society Allister
Fraser said, "This successful endea-
vour will be an inspiration for simi-
lar projects in other pouts of the
country."
Entertainment Saturday was orga-
nized
by Roy Caley•of CHOK Ra-
dio in Sarnia. The Arkona Lions
Club provided a light barbecue
lunch with proceeds going to
Wheels to Nature.
Also participating in the opening
ceremonies were Mike Skowronski
and Shirley Van Hoof of the Lon-
don -Middlesex chapter of the Multi-
ple Sclerosis Society.

bon Saturday to officially launch the Wheels to Nature program to
provide wheelchair accessibility at Rock Glen. Holding the ribbon
from the left are Lambton warden Larry O'Neill, Ausable Bayfield
Conservation Authority chairman Don Lithgow, Mike Skowrowski
and Allister Fraser of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Middles-
ex warden Charles Corbett who is also co-chairman of the project
with Nancy Glendinning.
