Personal
We are sorry to hear that Brian
Webster has a broken arm, and hope
everything goes well for him and
he's all healed up for school!
We have a 13 year old grand-
daughter, who, on every chance she
has a few moments alone with
Grandma, will say, "Tell me a story
Grandma, about the olden days".
And it doesn't matter if its a story
she's heard ten times before.
She is thrilled to hear stories of
when I was a tittle girl, how we
lived in the early 40's without hy-
dro power, pumping all water by
and and doing farm work with hors-
es.
Her mother, noticing her intense
interest of olden times, sent me a
book, "Grandma Remembers" to
fill in with pictures, for her 13th
birthday.
It begins with a family tree, with
both sets of the child's great great
grandparents, of when Grandma was
born, school days, when married
and on up to present time. It is a
wealth of memories shared.
ny of my readers know, our
grand ughter lives in B.C.• We
usually only see her once a year.
Last summer she visited with us
(her family too) for three weeks. In
that time we took her to see the
public school I attended, also the

evening we shut off the lights, and
spent an evening with coal oil lamp

I still have the crib and the cradle
that my grandmother used for her
babies.
I wish more children were as in-
quisitive as my granddaughter to
learn about "The Olden Days". We
are now -doing a "Grandpa Remem-

books ask the grandparents opinion
on many topics, past and present.
