David Farquhar connected for four
of the Exctcr goals, while the sin-
gle goal went to Greg Geoffrey.
Exctcr also got much improved
play from forwards Jonathan Treib-
ncr, Jcrry Dadswcll and Scott Gil-
fillan.
Exctcr played against Lucan 1
Monday night, while their next
game will be in Coldstream July

Genttner went the first four in-
nings on the hill for Exeter and

lief. Russell surrendered three hits,
one run and one walk, and struck
out a pair. Merncr pitched the ninth
innings and earned the save. He

The Co-ops wcrc -scheduled to
start and home -and -home series
with last -place Clinton yesterday in
Clinton with the second game
scheduled for 6:30 today, Wednes-
day, in Exeter. The Co-ops will
play Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in
St. Marys against the second -place
Saints.

Rain plagues SIo-pitch
EXETER - Rain .continues to
plague the Thursday night schedule
of Exeter Ladies Slopitch. Games
scheduled for June 22 were all under
water while one of the June 15
games was rained out.
South Huron Hospital continued
their winning ways, followed close-
ly by Downtown Dollies, Huron
Park Devils and thc Inn. Girls who
have notched only one loss to date.
Standings remain tight and could
be changed drastically by the play-
ing of rained out games.

Two Grand
Bend soccer
team earn wins
GRAND BEND - Two of the tour
Grand Bend Minor Soccer League
teams that saw action last week in
the Lucan and District Minor Soc-
cer League came up vicLorious.
The Atoms played in Lucan
Thursday night and won the contest
7-4. Tommy Maguire and Leslie
Stesanco led the way with a pair of
goals each, while single goals went
to Brian Tedrick, Brian Lovie and
Jud DesJardine, on a penalty kick.
Next game for the Grand Bend At-
oms will be Thursday night at
home.
The Grand Bend Bantams lost to
Exeter 4-2 last Monday night- in
Exeter.
Bill Jennison and Steve Vanden-
berk were the goal scorers for Grand
Bend.
The Bantams played Monday
night at home against St. Colum -
ban and their next game will be
July 3 when they play host to Ilder-
ton.
The Grand Bend Mosquitos held a
3-0 lead against Bryanston in -the
first half last Wednesday night but
ran out of gas in the second half and
ended up losing 8-4.
Simon Dcsjardines andChris Du-
mas each scored a pair of tallies for
the Grand Bend team.
Grand Bend will play host to Lu -
can in Mosquito action Wednesday
night at •7 p.m. at the Legion field.
The Grand Bend Squirts won a
close 2-1 contest to St. Columban-
in St. Columban Thursday night. •
Jeremy Arnold and Scan Maguire
both netted goals for the winners in
that game.
The Squirts will play in Ilderton
Thursday night. -
There was no report from the
Grand Bend Pec Wee gatne last -
Tucsday night in Lucan.
The next Grand Bend Pee- Wee
game will be Tuesday, July 3,
when they play hostIlderton.

Monday night as they downed
visiting Fullarton by a 20-8
score.
Leading Exeter at thc plate

Vanbergen who each scored
three runs. Trevor Gregoire
and Steve Stire each .tripled
and scored two runs. •
Ken and Glen Hines also
scored two runs each. Steve
Cook added three singles,
drove in two runs and scored
two runs.
Cook was the winning
pitches, ashe went the dis-
tance for the victory. Hc
struck out 10, walked 11 and
allowed three hits.
