Lucan wins third in row
LUCAN - On Sunday•thc Lucan .
Juniors: got their third consecutive
win by defeating Seaforth 10-5 in
Lucan.
Scaforth got the early Icad with
three unearned runs in the first in-
•ning while the Scaforth pitcher held.
Lucan hitless through the first three
innings until the bdttom half of the
fourth when Lucan connected for
three runs on four hits.
In the fifth, Lucan scored three
more runs on a pair of hits, while
four more. Lucan runs were scored
in the bottom of the sixth on just
three ss..
Seaforth scored ils last two runs
in the top of the sixth both un-
earncd.
Lucan was led offensively by Dan
Jenkcn, with two hits in four at-
tempts and scored d run and Kevin
Leitch who score 4w6 'utls o`9ne
hit and one walk...
Lucan's winning pitcher was
Chris Smith who allowed four hits,.
thrcc unearned runs and got three
strikeouts in five innings.•Sandy
Hyde came ' on for the save and
chalked up four strikeouts in -an in-
ning and a third on the mound.
The next game for Ltican will be •
Sunday -when St. Marys travels to
Lucan for a 1:30 p.m. contest.

WALLACETOWN - Coaches Ar-
nold Martens and George Eisens-
chink travelled to Wallacetown for a
soccer tournament with only 11
players and one Mosquito aged
player.
The Exeter Pee Wees, so far un-
beaten in league play, were looking
forward to some good competition.
And good competition is what they
got. But the players to a man rose
to the occasion and showed their
parents and fans soccer of the high-
est caliber, passing the ball at will
and creating numerous good scoring
opportunities.
Led by the outstanding play of
Sivichay Sengkhounmany, Mark
Brintnell and Dan Martens and
helped by an outstanding support-
ing cast of 9 other players, Exeter
took the play to their opponents.
throughout the tournament.
Despite the hot weather and only
one substitute player the Exeter
team played three excellent games
and in winning all three of them
:ame away with the championship.
In the first game, Exeter took an
early lead against a stubborn Wal-
lacetown team and then played to a
6-3 win.
In the second game Exeter met
• Strathroy in what was a very chip-
py game but the Exeter youngsters
kepttheir composure and won 4-2.
The final game was no .contest.
Exeter played with their opponents
from Mount Brydges and scored an
easy 6-1 win to claim first place.
Congratulations to players and
coaches for an excellent tourna-
ment.
Goal scorers for Exeter in the
tournament were Sivichay Sengk-
hounmany with four, Trevor Taylor
had three, Souban Inlakhana, Craig
Hern, Marty Debruyn all had two
while Chris Vilos, Jason Willart,
Dennis Welsh chipped in one each.
