Presbytery women camp
GODERICH - About 100 women
from Huron -Perth Presbyterial of
The United Church proved that
camping is foreveryone as they
gathered at Camp Menesetung. Be-
cause baby-sitting was provided,
mothers with small children, the
youngest 3 1/3 months, were able
to attend. Coffee, juice, and muffins
were ready on arrival, and soon eve-
ryone was singing happily, led by
Susan Howson of Blyth and Gail
Lear of Londesboro at the keyboard.
Bev Robinson of Exeter spoke on
the thence for the day --"God's Spe-
cial Gifts," and emphasized the fact
that, whether talented or not, we all
have gifts to offer - "God doesn't
make junk." With an assortment of

day to celebrate Fathers Day and to
celebrate our Sunday Church
School. Congratulations to all the
children receiving their certificates
or stickers for good attendance.
Congratulations to all the chil-
dren for their participation in the
Sunday School program this year.
Thank you to the teachers for their
time and talents donated over the
year.
Thank you also to Mrs. Val Hod-
gins for her message "The Wiseman
Built His House Upon The Rock"
presented as a puppet play, enjoyed
by both young and old this Sunday.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Lamport who will be cele-
brating their 50th wedding anniver-
sary next Sunday, June 24. Family,
friends and neighbours are invited to
the church between 4 p.m. and 8
p.m. to help them celebrate.
Our sympathy is extended to the
family of the late Alex Jackson
who placed flowers in the entrance
of the church in his memory this
Sunday.

West Huron arranged the food for
the pot luck lunch. Predictably, at
camp, food was plentiful and popu-
lar.
Maintaining the camp tradition
for skits, women from Hampstead
and Lingelbach presented one which
.effectively illustrated Bev Robin-
son's point that if we don't use our
gifts, we lose them. -
Among other announcements was
the reminder to save the front pan-
els of labels from Campbell's
Soups, to be sent to World Mission
to the Deaf, Box 1359, Station B,
Oshawa, LIJ 6P8. Through the
"Labels for Education" programme,
the Evangelical School for the Deaf
in Puerto Rico was able to obtain a
1989 Dodge Maxi -Wagon, as well
as other smaller items.
• The event, like most days at
church camps, closed with worship,
conducted by two women from the
South Huron region. Thanks were
extended to those who planned the
day - Mary F. Dow, Dorothy Hart
and Jean gathers.
Graduate - Kim Prance graduat-
ed from the Nursing Program at
Georgian College, Barrie or,
June 9, 1989. She is employed
at Sunnybrooke Hospital, Toron-
to on the Cardiac Care and In-
tensive Care floor while waiting
news of her Registration Ex-
ams. Proud parents are Wayne
and Shirley Prance. Proud
grandparents are Gord and Do-
reen Prance, Exeter and Cathe-
rine Feick, Stratford.
Local seniors
have pot luck
EXETER - The June meeting of
Exeter Seniors, held at the Legion
Hall, began with a pot luck dinner
followed by a musical program in
which the.Rev..Richard and Linda
Hawley and Richard and Susan Gra-
ham accompanied by pianist Julie
Esterbrook entertained with many
musical numbers, duets and solos
which were appreciated and en-
joyed
President Alice Bowen read an ar-
ticle on becoming a dad and a
poem "Tribute to Grandfather'.
Members were reminded of the
Villa Open House on June 29, that
bingo at the Villa will be discon-
tinued for the summer, months,
that the Senior Games will be June
26 and 27 and volunteers are needed
at the Rec Centre these days to
help rnake the necessary 250 or so
lunches.
Exeter Seniors chalked up 109 1/
2 miles in the Walkathon week.
There was a demonstration of a
new polyester sunscreen material
for clothing to be worn by anyone
allergic to the sun.
Birthdays and anniversaries were
honoured.
The next meeting will begin
with a pot luck meal in Septem-
ber.

Celebrate 60 years - Mr. and Mrs. Hermon Foster of 310 Senior
street in Exeter celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on
Sunday, June 18. They were married on June 18, 1929 in Londes-
boro. After living. in Winchelsea for nine years, the couple farmed
on Concession 12 of Blanshard township for 20 years before mov-
ing to Exeter in 1959.
