Carter speaks at Crediton United Church. anniversary' By Shirley • Preszcator CREDITON - Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator attended the baptism of their grandson Jaynes Michael Dur- rell, son of Barbara and Mike, Wal- ton. The baptism was at Duff's United Church, Walton with Rev. Bonnie Lamblc officiating. After church Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator, Mrs. Harold McCallum Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Durrell London, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Preszcator, Allan and Tara, Edg- monville, Mr. Art Smith, Tammy Preszcator and Joshua Chalmers, Crediton attended a beautiful dinner at the horns of Mr. and Mrs. Mi- chael Durrell and James. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator spent Saturday night with Mrs. Harold McCallum, RR 1, Walton. United Church The sermon topic at Zion United Church was taken from 2 Samuel 7:18-29 and Mark 6:7-13 titled "Missionary Manifesto". Rev. De- • borah Carter from Centralia United was guest speaker. Anniversary' Sunday was observed. The Zurich Mennonite Male quartette provided special music. Next Sunday service will be at 10 .m. and June 18 is Childrens Day at 10:30 a.m. and June 25 at 10 a.m. Following Sunday Anniversary service a light lunch -Vas served. The U.C.W. meeting was held Thursday June 1 with the Explorer girls and their mothers as guests. Irene Haugh and the Explorer girls presented a enjoyable program of readings and bible quiz. Lunch was served by Nola Faist and Sandy Martin. Linda Finkbeiner president thanked the girls and presided for a short business meetine. Cookies and Freshie will be supplied for Va- cation Bible School in July. The Fall Regional will be in Centralia September 18. Crediton in charge of decorations. Camp ex- perience at Camp Menesetung on July 12. Graduate - Karen Annette Steinbach, daughter of Ann and Edgar Steinbach, Zurich, Ontario, graduated May 27, 1989 from McMaster Universi- ty, Hamilton. She graduated on the Dean's Honour List with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biogology and Psychology. In the fall she will be continuing her education at The University of Guelph to obtain her Mas- ters of Arts in Applied Child Psychology. Sa intsbury by Mrs. Heber Davis SAINTSBURY - Due to anniver- sary service held at St. Paul's An- glican Church, Kirkton, service a St. Patrick's was cancelled service next Sunday is planned for 11 o'clock at St. Patrick's. Mrs. Hugh Davis, Mrs. Nadine Bedell and Mrs. Heather MacGilliv- ray attended the 53rd weekend at Huron College, London on the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Young, Richard and John were dinner guests with Jeff's grandmother Nlary Davis on Sunday evening. Mrs. Voyle Jordan is under the doctor's care and taking treatments in Victoria Hospital London. We wish her a full recovery. Mabel Needham's sister is in a London hospital and expects to have surgery on Tuesday. We wish her a speedy recovery. Graduate - The family of Chris Van Gerwen would like to con- gratulate him on his May 27, 1989 graduatioft from the Uni- versity of Waterloo with a F... a- elor of Applied Science Ct in Civil Engineering. Chris has accepted a position with Swain and Rupnow Consulting Engi- neers in Waterloo. Especially proud are Connie and Brett. Clandeboye CLANDEBOYE - Former resi- dents of Clandeboye, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Murlcss, of London, celebrat- ed their 65th wedding anniversary recently. The Murlcssarc enjoying good health despite their age. Mrs. Murlcss is 90. Her husband is 91 and passed his driver's test without difficulty.
