North -south challenge - it came close to civil war in Hensall last Wednesday when a participaction
challenge asked residents to get out and walk the -town. Twenty-one percent answered the call,
but the north side of town .proved themselves the most fit by bringing out 139 participants. The
south only managed to find 104. people willing to walk the route in the rain.

HENSALL - Hensall United
Church worshippers were greeted by
Ernie Chipchase. Our guests were
the New Huronia Chorus singers
made up of Exeter and Hensall
United Church people. The anthem
"Immortal, Invisible God Only
Wise" Arr Thiman, also "Thy Per-
fect Love" Rjtter. ' -
Rev. Wright's message .was "A
letter to the angel of -the church".
Those serving communion were
Mrs. Jane Consiu, Mrs. Dcanna
Brock, Bill Noakes, Raye Jacobi,
John Thomson and Grant S. John.
The chorus sang the benediction
Irish Blessings". Next. Sunday is
the Sunday School promotion, offi-
cial board meets June 8, executive
at 7:30, committees at 8:00 with
full board at 8:30.
For recycling of old newspapers
by Exeter's Club Huron, you can
put them in boxes in the church
basement for pick up every Tues-
day.

ZURICH - It certainly doesn't
feel like June and it is really too
cool and wet for the Residents to
get out and enjoy their daily walks,
however, we do have numerous ac-
tivities for them to take part in.
Monday mornings are occupied
with discussions and Bible study,
Tuesdays there arc exercises and
othermornings are occupied with,
games, singing, etc. Afternoons are
busy. Tuesday is cookie baking

The sympathy of Residents and
Staff is extended to the families of
the late Mrs. Jean Campbell and
Mr. Lorne Fleischaucr.
Fr. Hays was present on Thursday
afternoon to.conduct Mass for the
Roman Catholic Residents.
Rcv. Stephen Alles of St. Peter's
Lutheran church held a communion
service on Friday afternoon for all
Residents who wished to partici-
pate.
We welcome Mrs. Joan Bedard, a
former Zurich . resident, to the
Home.
Bingo was played on Friday eve-
ning followed by refreshments. .
The Sunday evening chapel ser-
vice was conducted by Rcv. Larry
Stojkovic of Zion Lutheran church,
Dashwood.

HENSALL - Hello! Welcome to
Queensway News! Monday morning
several residents enjoyed tea in the
sun room while listening to the
tape of the United Church service,
which is -provided for us. In the af-
ternoon the Zurich Mennonite ladies
provided assistance and prizes for
Bingo.
. Pastor Arbogast of the Exeter
Christian Reformed Church led our
worship service Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday Fun and Fitness start-
ed the day. The combination of live-
ly music and the effects of exercise
• helps everyone start the day in a
good frame of mind. Residents were
really pleased that the Hensall Kin -
cues thought of them for Wednes-
day evening's participaction walk.
The Kinettes wheeled several resi-
dents around town for the north
'south competition.
Thursday evenings movie was a
Walt Disney production "Never a
Dull Moment" starring Dick Van
Dyke.
Joyce Pepper our volunteer pia-
nist played for choir practice Friday
afternoon. Residents always enjoy
hearing her playing their requests
for fifteen minutes once choir prac-
tice is completed.

Library wants your teddy

ZURICH - The theme for story
hour for the coming week will be
"A Teddy Bear's Picnic", so kids
bring along your favorite Teddy and
come join the fun at the Library for
a picnic. -
It will be held on Thursday, June
8 for group I and June 15 for group
II for 2-3 p.m. which will be the
last story hour for this season but
will resume again in September.
Members of the Mennonite Com-.
munity attended their first service in
their beautiful new church on Sun-
day. In the evening a special "Tal-
. ent Night" was held with those tak-
ing part by all ages from the young
to old. On Sunday June 18 will be
their Dedication Service at 2:30
p.m. and everyone is welcome to
attend. Their pastor is Clayton
Kuepfer of Zurich.
Tickets are now on sale for the
125th Anniversary dinner of the Zu-
rich Agricultural Society which
wilt be held at the Zurich Commu-
nity centre on Saturday., July, 8 at 6
p.m.
Tickets are $10 per person which
includes.dinner, entertainment and
door prizes. Phone Margaret
Deichert at 236-4130 or any fair
board member for them.

It was a very busy weekend for
weddings as there were three on Sat-
urday at various places. Congratu-
.lations to Kevin Denomme and
Brenda Hoonaard who were married
at St. Peter's Church (St. Joseph)
on June 3
The groom is the son of Bernie
and Annette Denomme RR 2 Zu-
rich.
Several friends and relatives of the
Hartman family travelled to St.
Clair Shores, Michigan to attend
the wedding of Anthony Hartman to
Monique Cantin at St. Lucy's
church. Anthony is the son of Ray
and Janice H,II midi), RR 3 Zurt. h.
The third :fitting took pia.e in
London on Saturday with several
relatives of the -Ducharme family
from the area attending the wedding
of Jerry Ducharme and Sherry Cor-
ne11..The groom is the son of Ted
Ducharme and Nancy, Zurich. .
Ashley Christina Bedard was bap-
tized on Sunday, May 28 at Si.
Boniface Church by Fr. Hayes with
her god -parents being Peter Gelinas
of London and Aubrey and Wendy
Bedard of Exeter. The baby's parents
are Pat and Jane Bedard. . -
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
are extended to those' in the hospital
being, Gerald O'Rourke, Mary Ja-
cobs, Gladys Beard and Avilla Du-
charme.
The Knights of Columbus from
St. Boniface Council will be hav-
ing a pot luck supper and meeting
held at the Pineridge Chalet on
Monday, June 12 beginning at 7
p.m. Each fauuly is asked to bring
a main dish and dessert. Refresh-
ments and paper products will be
supplied.
The kindergarten class along with
their teacher at St. Boniface school
and some moms spent the day at
Story Book Gardens in London on
June 2 for their end of the year. trip.
Donna Klopp, president of the
Zurich Evangelical Lutheran
Church Womens group attended the
second Biennial Convention of the
E.L.W. at the University in Water-
loo (as a delegate) from May 26 to
28, which she found to be very in-
teresting and informative.
