New Lioness executive EXETER - The Exeter Lioness Club held its regular mccting at the Exeter Masonic Hall on May 29 and a delicious meal was served by thc Eastern Star. Thirty-two mem- bers were in attendance along with - Associate Lioness Chairperson Jan- et Dawson, Exeter -Lions Liaison Rep. John Stephens and two mem- bers of the Kitchener Lioness Club. Lioness Chairperson' Janet Daw- son and Lions Liaison John Ste- phens installed three new Licsncss members, Karen Eveland, Carolyn Merner and Barb Ward-Werrctt in the Exeter Club. • The 1989-90 Exctcr Lioness Ex- ecutive was inducted into office by Lioness Janet Dawson and Lion John Stephens. President Lioness Laurie Dykstra, Vice -President Judy McLeod, Shir- ley Mousseau and Mary Jane Mac- Dougall, Secretary Nancy Cham- bers, Treasurer Louise Pincombc, Lioness Tanner Mary Lou Becker, 1st Ycar Director Marion Rider, 2nd Ycar Director Dorothy Prout and 3rd Year Director Nancy Rooth. Tail Twister Joan }lurking was not' in attendance. The Lion/Lioness sponsored Homecoming Days Ball Tourna- ment is fast approaching on lune 9, 10 and 11, where the Lioness will be manning the food booth in the Agricultural Building. Come out and enjoy .the weekend with your family and friends. The Lioness Yard Sale of May 13 generated S195.37 and was well at- tended. The Lioness will donate three stuffed animals for -the "Snug- gle's for Kids Program" associated with Hoffman's Ambulance where- by a hurt child would receive a stuffed animal in the trauma period and be able to take it home. S50 was donated to the Survival Through Friendship House in Hu- ron County for battered spouses. It was ,reported that thc Lioness Club members have officially com- pleted all their planned visitations this year. , The round -up meeting for this 1989 Lioness season will be held on June 12, at the president's house Rosemary Straw. Thank you as a community for your generosity and support over this past year and we ask as Lioness for your continued support in the up -coming year in our different functions and fund-raising ventures. A report was given by those attending the Lon- don Conference Annual Meeting. The: stand- ing niles wcrc presented and passed along with thc Budget for '89 - '90. - The Junc mccting will be a tour of Huron County museum on Junc 28 leaving at 12 noon. to Rev. Hawley on becoming the new Chairperson of the Huron- Pcrth Presbytery for 1989-1990. After the service coffee and conver- sation was enjoyed, hosted by the Ministry and Personnel Committee. -Children's service will be held next Sunday,. June 1"8, at 11:00 a.m., winding up the Sunday School year. Guest speaker will be Mrs. Valerie Floclgins, Past Chair- person of Christian Devcloprtient, • London Conference. We are also looking forward -to a puppet show during the service. Sunday, June 25 will be our an- nual scrvicc in the park, Summer Services will commence on July 2 at 10:00 a.m. and will continue at this time until September. Vacation Bible School will be held from Monday, August 21 to Friday, August 25. Pre -registration will be held at the church office Au- gust 16, 17 and 18. (519) 229-6341 Legion Ladies Auxiliary make $10,000 donation EXETER - The Ladies Auxiliary to the R.E. Pooley Exeter Branch 167 held their regular meeting Mon- day, May 22 with 28 members present. President Erny Robinson chaired the meeting. Margaret Hedley won the mystery prize. Plans were finalized for our June outing Wednesday, June 7 to Sec- ond City in London for dinner and a show. Margaret Hedley received her 35 -year pin. Sports Chairperson is Barbara Hearn. President Pfaff closed the meeting after which lunch was served.
