"These workshops are free to students in the arca and thoy provide a theatrical experience for three different age groups"., says Smith. "Our Young Company for students aged 13 and up begins Monday, July 17 and runs until Sunday, August 13. - Our students will be introduced to the stories of Harry J. ,Boyle and learn more about the theatre both on stage and off. Keith Roulston has adapted some of Boyle's great stories into a play that the Young Company will perform in August. In addition, we'll have some special guests who will lead special work- shops on movement, stage fight- ing, theatre games and voice." Students who are interested in joining the Young Company this . season arc asked to call Peter Smith at the Blyth Festival (S23-4345) and to- come to a "Get to Know, You" audition on Tuesday, June 13 or Wednesday, June 14 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at the Festival "Garage".. Call fora special appointment. Special workshops for younger children . will be led by Heather Morton, our Youth Workshop Co- ordinator this summer. Heather is a student at F.E. Madill Secondary School and has long been associated with the Young Company work- shops at the Festival . for many years. For children aged five to tight years old, there are morning sessions beginning Tuesday, July 4 to July 14 from 9 a.m. to noon from Monday through Friday for two we,eks. For children aged eight to I1 years old, there are afternoon work- shops from 1 to 4 p.m. beginning Tuesday, July 4 to July 14 from Monday through Friday for two weeks. Registration day is Monday, July 3 and all interested parents are asked to register in advance by call- ing the Blyth Festival Administra- tion Office at 523-4345 or drop by the office in nerson on registration day: July 3 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. These workshops are free of charge! • 'Last year the workshops for younger children concluded with a fun performance of a play they had created themselves. Each year over 40 students take part in these sum- mer workshops where those with "dramatic ambitions" or a wish to leam more behind the scenes -have the opportunity to work with thea- tre professionals and have lots of fun! These programmes are made possibje through the very generous assistance of Imperial Oil Limited, CKNX Broadcasting Limited, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler of Belgrave and Bill Farnell of Wingham.
