CREDITON - The sermon topic
was taken frern Acts 16:19-32 titled
"Cost of Discipleship."
The Gidcons were in charge e' 'he

We thank them for'heir interest-
ing message and the work they do.
Praise His Wonderful Name.
Thursday lune 1, the U.C.W.
meeting is at 8 p.m. Explorers and
their parents will be guests.
Next Sunday June 4 is Anniver-
sary Sunday. Rev. Deborah Carter
from Centralia will be guest speak-
er. Special music will be provided.
A light lunch will be provided after
service. Ladies are asked to bring
sandwicties, cookies or squares. Ser-
vice begins at 10:30 a.m.
There will be no Sunday School
next Sunday June 4.
Choir practice is Wednesday even-
ing at 8 p.m.
June 11 will be Childrens day and
the 18th is Father's. Day. June 25 is
Decoration Sunday.
Also June 25 is Rev. Bob Pee-
bles last Sunday with us. Lets fill
the House of the Lord that day. It
has been a pleasure to have him
here with us and I'm sure we will
aU miss him.
As you probably all know Stan
and 1 are also lcaving"to take up res-
idence at Clinton. Our home here
has just go too big for me to look
after. I will have more in the fol-
lowing couple of weeks about my
life in Crediton.
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator
were Saturday supper er g uests with
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hubley Sea -
forth. In the evening my. Mother
and I attended the bridal shower of
Miss Linda Lcerning from Strat-
ford.
We have known Linda since she
was a small child. The shower was
held 'at the home of her aunt. Mrs.
Norma Steele, Seaforth.
A number of games were played,
and Linda opened her gifts and
• thanked everyone. A delicious lunch
was served by the hostess. - .
We will be having an auction sale
June 15 at 6 p.m. Watch this paper
for further details.
W.I. Meets
An enjoyable visit to the Huron
County Museum in Goderich was
part of the regular May meeting of
the Crediton Women's Institute,
Wednesday night, May 24.
After the business meeting
chaired by president-elect Irene
Haugh, members and their spouses
and friends toured the museum un-
der the supervision of director Claus
Btvcde.
The new slate of officers for the
1989-90 year was installed recently.

club meets
CRI:DTTON - The second meet-
ing of Crediton No. 5 was held at
the home of Lisa Glavin May 22 at
7:00.
President Julie Kaak assigned
members to read Features of Plants
which also involved filling in
blanks, The Planning Process,
things to keep in mind when plan-
ning on paper, What is a Founda-
tion Planting?, and Measure a
Foundation Yourself, which we did
to Lisa Glavin's house.
Leaders Mary, Glavin and Dianne
Kaak assigned members in partners
to do this. We then discussed meas-
urcrncnts and sketched houses. Julie
Kaak read Home Activities and
Mary Glavin explained No. 1.
We went inside for popsicles and
lemonade.
The third meeting of Crediton
No. 5 will he held at 'Lakewood
Nursery Saturday, May 27 at 9:30.

Bake Sale at Cralgholme - Evelyn McNaughton, Terry Shipway
and Ruth McCallum were busy Friday during the bake sale at Crai-
gholme in Ailsa Craig. Proceeds went to the Alzheimer's Associa-
tion.
Bridal shower
for bride-to-be
in Staffa area

STAFFA - Relatives from
Campbellville, Kitchener, London,
Stratford, Goderich, Mitchell, Hen-
sall, Exeter and surrounding corn,
munity honoured Barb Templeman
on Sunday afternoon at the town-
ship hall with a miscellaneous
shower.
A bride's book made by Barb's
niece Wanda was circulated for eve-
ryone to see. Several contests were
enjoyed by all.
Barb's aunt Isabel Annisprepared
and read an address in rhyme. Wanda
and Michelle Martyn assisted Barb
in opening her many lovely gifts
after which Barb thanked everyone
and a social time was enjoyed, by
all.
