Crediton fireworks - The annual Crediton firemen's fireworks dis-
play was another success. Shown ready to begin are firemen.
Doug Lightfoot, Robert Pertschy, John Pritchard and Murray
McDonald. One of the displays is shown below.
Cast of 42
GRAND BEND - Although it
was a difficult task, Huron Country
Playhouse Artistic Director Tony
Lloyd has managed to select a cast
of 42 young people, from the more
than 100 that auditioned, to play
the vast brood of children needed for
the Playhouse production of The
King & I.
Andrew and Sara Bannister, Jule
Hume, Sally Morgan, and Misty
Zarnik of Grand Bcnd, Emily Miller
and Keriann O'Rourke of Dash-
wood, Bryan Denomme and Stepha-
nie Erb of Zurich, Chelsea and Tif-
fany Brintnell of Hensall, Amy and
Sherry Cassell of Woodham, and
area youth
Melanie Phillips and Dania Thur-
man of Exeter are some of the local
young people who will begin re-
hearsals, along with the rest of the
cast of The King & I, in early Au-
gust.
Forty-two may seem like an aw-
fully large cast of children, but the
polygamous king of Siam had a
grand total of 67 offspring. Mr.
Lloyd and choreographer Kimberley
Timlock will have to put all their
expertise to work to arrange the
enormous ensemble of children,
wives, dancers, and principal cast
members in this enchanting musi-
cal by Rogers and Hammerstien.
