CWL sends letters
of concern about
shopping and TV

ZURICH - The St. Boniface
C.W.L. decided at last Tuesday's
meeting to draft letters of concern
about Sunday shopping and the tel-
evision program "Freddy's Night-
mares."
A petition was signed by all
members in the hope the abortion
drug RV486 will not be marketed
in Canada.
The next meeting will be June
20, but there are no meetings
planned for July or August.
Personals
Jerome and I enjoyed spending the
day in Windsor last Wednesday vis-
iting with my mother, Jean Bedard
and relatives.
Karl and Mary Regier attended the
Knights of Columbus Convention
held at the Constellation Hotel in
Toronto, this past weekend.
Wishes for a speedy recovery are
extended to Gerald O'Rourke and
Gladys Bedard who are patients in
South Huron Hospital.
We offer our sincere sympathy to
the family and relatives of Dana
Fisher who died on Friday in a car
accident.
A Buck and Doc (dance) for Bren-
da Hoonaard and Kevin Denomme
was held at the Zurich Community.
Centre on Friday night. The couple
are planning to be married June 3.

There will be a P.T.A. meeting
tonight at St. Boniface School gym
at 7:30 p.m. which will include a
business meeting, election of offi-
cers and presentations to Sister
Mary Margaret and Mr. Lonna Ride-
out (who will be leaving the school
staff). Everyone is asked to bring
along something for a dessert so-
cial.
Paper drive
The monthly paper drive will be
held this Thursday, May 25 begin-
ning at 6:30 p.m., sponsored by the
Mennonite Church group.
Story flour
The next story hours at the li-
brary will be held on Thursday,
May 24 from 2-3 p.m. for group
one and again on June 1 for group
two.
The theme will be "Things That
Go".
Sincere there are 12-14 enthusias-
tic pre-schoolers in each group, the
idea to run an extra day has been
well received.

ZURICH - The Ladies Auxiliary
Mother's Day Bake, Tea and Craft
Sale was held here at the home on
Saturday, May 13 and was a great
success. We wish to thank the La-
dies Auxiliary for their donation of
a VCR to the residents here at the
home. We will make good use of it
watching some of our old favourite
movies as well as documentaries.
Idella Gabel held a piano recital
here Thursday evening with many
of her students taking part. Resi-
dents enjoyed listening to their tal-
ents.
Tiny Thiel celebrated his birthday
this past week. Lorne Fleischauer is
a patient in South Huron Hospital.
We welcome back Jean Campbell
from Victoria Hospital, London.
Residents out visiting this past
week were Ann Willcrt, Jean Le-
vine, Aaron Gingcrich, Mabel
Glen, Urban Pfile, Elizabeth Gingc-
rich, Mr. Soldan, Nina Talbot, Su-
san Kuepfer and Mr. Skinner.
The Sunday evening chapel ser-
vice was conducted by Rev. Duke
Vipperman of Trivitt Memorial An-
glican Church, Exeter.
