Guests invited to Dashwood Champion seniors

DASHWQOD - The Good
Champion Sr. Citizens invite all
members to bring guests and attend
the monthly meeting Monday, May
15, 8 p.m.
Dashwood WI
The Womens Institute committee
on Family and Consumer Affairs
took charge of the May meeting
which opened with a statement
"The Agricultural towns of South-
ern Ontario supply us with our ba-
sic foods." A chart of Canada's
Food Guide and a map were used to
support this idea.
The roll call "Name a Canadian
food product and tell where it is
processed" was answered by 16
members and two visitors.
The District Annual will be held
May 18 in the First Presbyterian
Church, Seaforth.
Dashwood ladies are in chargre of
Pennies for Friendship.
Pres. Katherine Becker announced
the Quilt Show to be held at the
Grand Bend Museum.

was held at 8:30 at St. Patricks
Sunday morning, prayer service was
used.
Sheryl Carroll provided music
and read the first lesson and Ryan
Carroll read the: second lesson. In
the absence of the teachers, Lisa and
Julie Carroll taught the Sunday
School pupils.
Rev. Wheeler spoke on Jesus' as-
cension. She asked if we could real-
ize the disciples' feelings when Je-
sus ascended and they were alone.
The A.C.W. meeting is planned
for Tuesday evening at 8 p.m,. at
the home of Mary Jefferies, and the
juniors who had planned on clean
up day were invited to the rectory
due to the cold weather.
Service next Sunday is planned
for 11 a.m.

Church on Sunday Rev. Carter
chose as her topic "It is a Mighty

of Confirmation and Communion
will be observed. -
On Wednesday, Religion In Life"
at 4:15 at the manse. First Session
Centralia Congregational Meeting
at 8:30 p.m. to discuss repairs to
the church. All welcome.
On Thursday, Junior Young Peo-
ple are invited to Thames Road
Young Peoples for baseball and
snacks 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
On Thursday evening Centralia
U.C.W. are touring the Friar's
Church. Car pooling at Centralia
Church at 7:30.
Next Sunday, May 14 a service
of Confirmation and Communion,
also transfer of members will be
held. Speak to Rev. Carter if inter-
ested. She asks if you have red to
wear it.

At the euchre party at the com-
munity centre prizes went to: High
Score Mary Funk, Lloyd Durr;
Lone Hands Charlotte Barker, Ho-
ward Dolan; Low score Ruth Guest,
Tom Kooy.
Next party May 15 at usual time
will be convened by Larry and Mary
Cronyn and Con and Linda Foran.
Danny Caslick celebrated his sec-
ond birthday on Sunday with a tur-
key dinner with relatives.
Tom and I entertained our family
at dinner on Sunday when Clayton
was celebrating his birthday.

CREDITON - Sermon topic at
Zion United Church was taken from
Ezek26: 1-14 and 2 Peter 2:1-12 ti-
tled The Bible...Its Prophecies.
Sympathy is extended to the fami-
lies.of the late Mr. Carmon Roesz-
ler. Mr. Roeszler passed away
Wednesday at South Huron Hospi-
tal, Exeter. He was buried on Sun-
day from the Hoffman's funeral
home. Interment Crcditon Cemet-
ery. Rev. R. Peebles officiated.
Sympathy goes out to his brothers
and sisters and their families.

May 4 with the associate members
of the Congregation as our guests.
Linda Finkbeincr welcomed our
visitors and thanked them for their
help throughout the year with lunch
and decorating the church etc. ,
Linda ,Finkbeincr, assisted by
Sandy Martin, presented an interest-
ing program on the theme "Mother's
Day". A skit called "You Can Take
This Job and Love It" was presented
showing how the love of a child
makes being a parent something
special
Each convener told of their work
in their department. Roll call was
answered with your favourite Bible
Verse. Lunch was served by the
lunch committee. -
May 14 is Mother's Day. Theser-

were Sunday supper guests with Mr.
and Mrs. David Glanville and Tina
and Earl Cabana, Listowel, and
spent the evening with Mr. and

lonial in Grand Bend and celebrated
an early Mother's Day.

Mr. and Mrs. John MacGillivray,
Lions Head, spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray,
Courtney, Katie Scarlet, Caleb and
Corbin.
Many from this area attended the
firemen's breakfast in Lucan Sun-
day. The food was delicious.
Several of the ladies from St.
Patrick's attended the buffet lunch-

the Royal Alexandria "Les Misera-

for the Anne Murray Show and the
live production of "Evita" (Life of
Eva Peron). Mrs. Shirley Tieman
and her daughter, Janice Regier,

Lori Clarke, Strathroy, Jeannie Lee,
Exeter, Sharon Craven, Ailsa Craig
enjoyed the trip.
Guests from Waterloo, Toronto,
St. Thomas, London, Wyoming,
Detroit, Grand Bend, Ilderton, Dash-
wood and Exeter attended the Boyle -
Smith wedding Saturday, May 6.
Trevor and Wendy were married in
the Exeter United Church. Rev.
Richard Hawley officiated. Matron
of honour was JoAnn Brown,
bridesmaids were Maria Giamps,
Julie Smith and Jayne Boyle. Best
man was Douglas Brenner; ushers
were Dean Boyle, Brian Smith and
David Hayter. The bridds parents
are Russ and Doreen Smith, Water-
loo and the grooms parents are
Hugh and Bernice Boyle. The re-
ception was held at the Exeter Golf
course.
