Novice Ringette - The Exeter Novice Ringette team received an awards at the annual awards banquet
last Monday night. The team didn't win a game all year but lost two -games -to -one in the league fi-

ior Badminton team travelled to
Oakridge Secondary School for a
tournament. It was p successful da

played well all day and eventually
annihilated the opposition to be-
come the tournament Mixed Dou-
bles champions.
Becky Morgan and Carrie Oke
bowed out in the 'A' Doubles Final
and Chris Gardner won the Singles
consolation.
SH also hosted an exhibition
tournament last Thursday against
Parkhill.
• Although no scores were recorded,
the tournament was a success for
the Panthers as they claimed many
victories:
The Senior Panthers attend Hu-
ron -Perth this Thursday and the
Juniors next week.
ELECTED AS 1ST VICE
PRESIDENT OF THE FARM
MUTUAL REINSURANCE PLAN INC.
Gordon Johnson, a Director of the Blan-
shard Mutual Insurance Company of St.
Marys, Ontario has been elected as 1st
Vice President of the Farm Mutual Reinsu-
rance Plan Inc. (F.M. R.P.).
Following the Annual General Meeting of
the F.M.R.P. held in Toronto, Ontario

term.
The Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan Inc, the
first all Canadian Reinsurance Company is
iocat.e.kfi in Cambridge, Ontario and is
owned by 57 farm mutual insurance com-
panies. f maxoss•
The farm mutual insurance companies that own and control the F.M.R.P.
are primarily farm and rural insurance companies who have served their
members in rural Canada for more than 100 years in the mutual tradition.
The F.M.R.P was formed in 1959 to increase the capacity (ability to write
large insurance risks) of its owning members and to protect their finan-
cial resources. The company spreads the risk of catastrophic losses
through their access to North American and International Reinsurance
markets.
As part of his many duties, Mr. Johnston will represent F.M.R.P. and par-
ticipate in numerous•meetings across Canada. He will travel to the Unit-
ed Kingdom to meet with leading international underwriters such as
Lloyd's of London.
Mr. Johnson was elected as a Director of the corporation in 1978. He
was elected to the Executive Committee in 1986 and has served as 2nd
Vice President.
Mr. Johnson is the Territorial Director for 11 farm mutual insurance com-
panies operating in the Huron, Perth and Middlesex area who elect a
representative to the Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan Board of Directors.
Mr. Johnson is a Director of the Blanshard Mutual Insurance Company in
St. Marys, Ontario, a fully licensed Farm Mutual Insurance company pro-
viding Automobile, Farm, Commercial and Personal Insurance coverag-
es.
Gordon Johnson and wife Florence and one daughter reside in Wood-
ham, Ontario.
