Basketball runners-up - Zurich Public School were runners up in the girls public school champion-
ship held last Friday, finishing only behind the host McCurdy team from Huron Park. Exeter was
third, Hensall fourth, Usborne and Stephen were tied for fifth with seven points each. Front row,

The Quilt Committee of the Homecraft Division of
Exeter Agricultural Society want to lexpress our ap-

Skating awards night Sunday

ZURICH - The skating club's
Awards Night will begin at the Are-
na on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. A pot-
luck supper starts the program, but
the special guest will be Mary -Lou
Marchant of Figure "8" designs fig-
ure skating Boutique in London.
Library
Story Hour will be held at the li-
brary again this Thursday, April 13
from 2-3 p.m. The theme is
"Birds". All pre-school children are
welcome.
Auxiliary meeting
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Blue
Water Rest Home held their month-
ly meeting Tuesday, April 4 at the
home.
Everyone present, both residents
and members enjoyed the entertain-
ment provided by Earl and Martha
Heywood of Wingham.
Tickets are now ready for the
Bean festival quilt draw and can be
obtained from ticket convener Car-
mel Sweeney. Helpers are needed to
go along with residents to the Nith-
view Home in New Hamburg dur-
ing Senior Citizens Week in June.
The Mother's Day weekend Tea
and Bake Sale is at the home on
Saturday, May 13 from 2-4 p.m. A
special feature this year is a craft
show. Five area people will be on
hand to display their talents.
St. Boniface
Quilt tickets for the Bean Festi-
val C.W.L. (St. Boniface) parish
are being handed out by group lead-
ers along with membership cards
($10.00 this year). All money and
ticket returns are to be sent to Au-
drey Smith.
Personals
Darcy Martin has returned home
from an exciting three-week trip to
Sweden, Finland and Russia. He
was a member of the only hockey
team from Ontario competing
through the Christian Out Reach
program. While away, he also spent
a week in Minnesota at a hockey
training camp.
Congratulations to Toots Stark
on bowling a great game last Mon-
day night (April 3) when she came
up with a triple of 812: bowling
three games a 221, 218, and 373.
Jim Bedard and Phil Overholt did
well at the Regional Bowling tour-
nament in Collingwood on April 2.
The team from Town and Country
Lanes, Zurich, placed third.
Lydia Regier is spending a few
weeks at the home of her daughter
and family, Lucille and Clare Masse
while recuperating from a hospital
visit.
Congratulations to Maurice and
Gert Durand who will be celebrat-
ing their 60th wedding anniversary
on Saturday.
A Buck and Doe (Dance) will be
held for Peter Mathonia and Caro-
lyn Regier on Friday, April 14 at
the Pineridge Chalet.
Some members of the Mennonite
Church attended the annual spring
meeting of W.M.S.C. at Rockway
in Kitchener on April 8.
Children making their first Com-
munion at St. Boniface Church this
past Suliday were Amanda Wilds
and Nicholas Regier.
