of an organized marketing plan for -
cattle or are you satisfied with the
money you are receiving for your
cattle at present. We as business
mcn sit idly by while the profit dol-
lars we receive decrease and every
input we need to purchase costs
more. We must have more money!
Our rate of pay of our work con-
tinues to decrease and returns on our
dollars invested arc non-existent or
marginal at best. What other indus-
try in Canada would produce bil-
lions of dollars worth of a product
with no plan for selling it.
The cattle production is made up
of over 30,000 producers and only
nine major buyers. There certainly
is ample room for price and market
demand manipulation.
We as producers must have a
greater voice in what we receive for
our product. The proposed beef
Marketing Commission will have
representation from all segments of
the industry including the retailers
and the cunsumers. This represen-
tation is very important in light of
the continued food scarcities which
will likely increase in numbers as
we proceed through the nincties.
The marketing commission con -
on ` cept docs work. I point out to you
!the successful operation of the Ap-
ple Marketing Commission. I-
I also an apple producer and i can
vouch for the fact that your voice is
heard in the marketing place and
that there are enough-pratical ex -
plan work. The working plan is de-
veloped by the ,elected directors
upon the acceptance of the market-
ing commission concept.

iIt indicates to me that they are com-
pletely frustrated by knowing that
what needs to be done to put more
money in my pocket goes beyond
the scope of a producer assocation.
What is called for is the formation
of a grower marketing body with
authority to enter the market place.
Gentlemen, the question is, do we
snake an,attempt to put more mon-
ey in ouriockcts? in thr wgin•
ning we are not asking the consu-
mer to pay more. We will ask for
our share of the dollar she is pres-
ently spending.
Join with me in voting yes. Yes
to beef Marketing Commission,
yes to a future in the cattle indus-
try and indeed yes to change.
Sincerely,
Laverne Robertson, P.Ag

Lioness tips on
get
being 'Uniquely You'
EXETER - The Exeter Lioness
Club met for their regular meeting
on Monday, 'March 27, at 7:00
p.m.at the Exeter Masonic Hall, en-
joying a delicious ham supper pre-
pared by the Eastern Star Ladies.
The special guest speaker was
Sharon Miller, proprietor of a
clothing business called "Uniquely
You" located within Image Clean-
ers, Grand Bend. She specializes in
one -of -a -kind outfits mixing leather
and other materials together to
make unique ensembles to -accent
your wardrobe.
She informed the Lioness that
your clothing is a personal signa-
ture of. yourself. It reveals a great
deal about yourself and usually
leaves a first impression on those
you meet.
Clothing, make-up and accesso-
ries make you feel your best, and
thus you do your best in your life-
style, employment and marriage.
She gave helpful hints on divid-
ing your closet into selective
groupings such as: always wear,
never wear, love/but never wear and
alterations and mending, and clean-
ing closets out, so that the state-
ment of "I don't have a thing to
wear" is gone!
Colour, fabric quality, care' and
changes in style of clothing should
all be taken into consideration when
purchasing your wardrobe, which
by the way can be a sizeable invest-
ment, which should be chosen with
time, thought and organization to
result in the "Best You Can Be."
