Get well wishes go to Mrs. Elva Tur- vey who is in hospital. Our bakers were busy this week. To start the week off, we prepared the apple pies for our Easter Din- ner. It was even more enjoyable to taste the pies and know that we helped to prepare them. We also had a touch of Easter with our Homemade Hot Cross Buns. Later in the week the ladies prepared Cranberry Muffins for our bingo in the Nursing Home. The Christian Reform Church Choir joined us early this month due to the holiday. We always en- joy hearing the ladies and gentle- men as they sing our favourite hymns and some new ones. Residents in the Nursing Home celebrated all of our March birth- days last week. Guests of honour at the party were Lillian Edmiston, Mary Stewart and Gladys Brigh- trall. Rev. Rutledge of Emmanual Baptist Church, conducted our weekly worship services. Members of his congregation are a welcome addition to the service. Toes were tapping to some Irish music last Thursday evening as the Lioness hosted their monthly pro- gram. These ladies work very hard to ensure that we have different pro- grams every mcmth and we do ap- preciate all their work. Thought for the week: The trou- ble with stretching the truth is that it's apt to snap back. The Sunday School children pre- sented their love loaves along with those of the congregation with pro- ceeds going to World Visions. Pastor, Rev. Darrell Shaule, con- tinued the theme by preaching 'on the topic of "Against All Odds". What would happen if there was no Easter? Where would we be today if Jesus had not died on the cross for us and then arose from the dead to save us. Each and every one o1 us in every day situations experi- ence the power of God. which can not be limited by human situations as shown by the resurrection. So Easter is essential to each of us be- cause it changed our live and gave us hope to live life to it fullest in God's way.
