Sherwood (Exeter) moved to a site on Thames Road East last year.
Even better service
at new location
EXETER - Gabriel (Gabby) Mol,
owner of Sherwood (Exeter) Ltd.,
is cautiously optimistic about the
1989 business year. Sales for the
past three months - December, Jan-
uary and February - are up from the
same period a year ago, and The re-
cent farm show in Toronto has
sparked interest in what is available
at the farm equipment dealership.
The company is participating in
the farm show being held in Lon-
don this week froth Wednesday to
Saturday.
Mol was in Europe in January,
and reports that the Massey Fergu-
son tractors are one of the most
popular Makes on the other side of
the Atlantic. He credits this. to the
tractors' advanced technology.
"The big Massey Ferguson trac-
tors are tops in the market as far as
engineering and advances go", Mol
said.
Mol singled out a number of
components for special praise. The
Datatronics on -board computer
gives the operator an instant digital
read-out of acres -worked, fuel used,
distance travelled, and other calcula-
tions that are especially helpful to
custom operators and farmers run-
ning large acreages.
Mol terms the Perkins engine the
most reliable in the farm -industrial
market, -and notes that Massey Fer-
guson was the first tractor to have
an electronic three-point hitch.
This year Sherwoods is introduc-
ing the Kioti tractor to this area.
At present the dealership is carry-
ing the 16 hp and the 20 hp models
of the Korean -made small, compact
deisels that are equivalent to the
Japanese Kubotas. Within a year
Mol expects to have available in
Canada the full line of Kiotis rang-
ing from the 12 hp to the 50 hp
machines.
Sherwood moved last summer
from Exeter to a much larger site at
150 Thames Road East, and now
offers customers better service fa-
cilities, easy accessibility without
having to go through town, a
"better mix of parts" and ample
parking.
Servicing is an integral part of
the business.
"We can serviceany unit inside
our new service department, with
room to spare", Mol said.
Sherwood also carries a wide
range of farm implements, compet-
itively -priced venerators powered at
up to 8,000 kv, and a full line of
lawn and garden equipment.
The Sherwood staff consists of
mechanics Dave Holmes and Brent
Blacklcr, parts manager Mark Hoo-
ver, and Betty Irving, who is cur-
rently on maternity leave. ,
Gabby Mol is proud of the quality' of the machines sold and ser-
viced at his Sherwood(Exeter) dealership.
