Boniface School last Wednes- day evening went over as a big suc- cess. - The grade five class presented . "Gepetto and His Friends" while the grade 6 students performed "Grease" and the grade seven pupils put on "West Side Story". The gym .was filled to capacity and everyone involved in the Oper- etta is to be congratulated on a job well done. Skating carnival • Dont forget to attend the Zurich & Arca Figure Skating Carnival at the arena this Sunday. It begins at 2 p:m. and promises to be a "Crystal . Fantasy" on ice. - Admission at the, door is $3 for adults, $1 for chit- ' -dren, 12 and under (preschoolers free). . Tournament All the hockey fans had a great time on the weekend as they watched, or played, in the-Oldtimers hockey tournament at the arena. Teams came from as far away as Windsor to join the competition. On Saturday night a dance gave everyone a chance to meet all.their old friends again. The finals were played on Sunday and the winning A champions were.from Goderich while the Zurich Has -Beans won the B title. Day of Prayer There was a very good tum out at the World Day of Prayer last Friday afternoon held at the United Church in Zurich. This year's theme was "Lord tcach us to pray".. Special speaker - Meda O'Brien spoke on the Lord's Prayer. K of C This Sunday is called "Rose Sun- day" and members of the Knights of Columbus will be selling lapel ros- es at all the Masses at St. Boniface Church to raise money to protest the abortion laws in Canada. The K.Y.C. Council is also plan- ning to have a Monte Carlo Night at the Pineridge Chalet on April 7 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are now available from Karl Regier Sr. or members. All proceeds will go to Building Fund of- our new church. . - Personals Robert George Mathonia, six) of Ralph and Peggy Mathonia of Hen - sail, was bapuzed at St. Boniface Church. Godparents were Kenneth and'Deb Mathonia of London: Allan and Rose -Mary - Scott and three boys were guest speakers at the Youth for Christ meeting in Brucefield' last Saturday, speaking about their . Teen Mission trap to Poland last summer. Sisters Elaine Beauchamp, Janet Durand and Lori Masse along with their daughters enjoyed the Ice Ca- pades in Kitchener last Sunday. Gary and Anna Geoffrey of Wind- sor spent the weekend- with parents Clarence and Beattie Geoffrey. Gary played in the Oldtimers hockey tournament. Tick- ets are $3 for adults and $1 students and the theme for the show is "Fantasy on Ice." Guest skaters will be Zurich's Kathy Merner and her partner Paul Armes and Kathy and Jimmy Judge. Cookie baking was Tues- day afternoon when everyone's nose led them to the bake shop. Thursday evening, the Residents, with the help of Catherine Shantz • and Patti Regier had a pizza party. it was left to the imagination of the Residents to put the filling on the ready made pastry which was baked and ate as the snack for the ar. ly new and to some, an unheard of snack had its various reactions. in any case, it was a new experience for most. Bingo was played on Friday after- noon, entertainment which brings out every available Resident. Residents still confined to South Huron Hospital, Exeter, arc Matil- da Bassow, Jean Levine, Francis Kipper, Lorne Fleischaucr and Mil- ton Ocsch. The sympathy of Residents and Staff is extended to the families of the late Miss Minnie Hem. The Sunday evening chapel ser- vice was conducted by the Rev.
