Because there is no one perfect food that can meet all our nutrient needs, a variety of foods should be included in our diet. In fact, a diet that focuses on one or two types of foods can be detrimental to health. A sensible diet includes all four food groups in Canada's Food Guide (milk and milk products, fruits and vegetables, breads and ce- reals, and meat, fish, poultry and alternates) as well asta variety of foods from within each group. With so many food choices availa- ble, good taste and good nutrition can -be part of every meal! The following recipe is from "The Lighthearted Cookbook" by Anne Lindsay. It includes items from all four Food groups and is a, good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, iron and fibre. The bo- nus is that this dish is delicious and easy to prepare.
